I love every version of this song, the original music video with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines. hilarious, and the movie "Running Scared" that the song was made for!

Had it for several years but cannot think where I got it from. I've 12" record but I don't think it was on there....Several copies of the track (This track "Sweet Freedom" is my all time favourite song. Play it at least once a day lol. If I remember where I got instrumental from 12" and 7" I will let you know. I am pretty sure I cut the 12" down to make 7". Just love it. Drive my family nuts playing all the time in car lol

It was because I have the 12" and it with other versions was on it.

I am sure it's Quincy Jones band it's has the tight well honed produced sound amazing. I did see a credit on Ya Mo be there. Also Quicny has huge at that era. I always thought this track had a jazz synth fusion sound. Blown away by the 2nd part and Quincy immediately popped into my head. I need to look into it to 100% to confirm but my ears telling me Quincy 😊 link below in the info mentions Quincy. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6nLhoOYhcygmZo

(Seawind Horns) Either Kim Hutchcroft or Larry Williams on sax solo, Bill Reichenbach on the bone
@chriso81932 жыл бұрын
@@edgarbeat275 This song is all Rod Temperton and no Quincy. The regular version of this song has a synth bass, which has no credit, but may be sax player Larry Williams.....but the long version has a bass guitar solo, a "rhythm" guitar solo & an "acoustic guitar w/scat" solo. The regular version credits Paul Jackson, Jr for guitar, who also plays bass. So I believe it's him, as there is no other guitar player at that time that scatted other than George Benson. The sax solo is also Larry, the Trumpet solo is the Master Jerry Hey ...
