YaBoiKarl I love it in my opinion. I know there’s nothing “realistic” about Battlefield but it feels like the most realistic version of a battle in Western Europe during the German Blitz, seeing that most battles happened at long range and you have to utilize infantry and tanks as one unit together to be successful. It also gives the defenders a really good opportunity for a legitimate anti-tank defense.

It's funny how my favourite maps are opposites from what you think, lol. I find Hamada and Panzerstorm really fun and enjoyable, they are the most "Battlefield Themed" maps just like Al Sundan, which means they are big, opened, lots of infantry and vehicle play. Many people who don't like them got used to small maps or atleast not as "combined arms" as the old Battlefield. My least favourite is definitelly Underground... Everyone either uses one of 3 things, MMGs (camping), Shotguns or those Dumb noob friendly Extended Mag Suomis and Thompsons. I liked Fort de Vaux from BF1 more, DESPITE nade spam.

Not gonna lie, I really enjoy Panzerstorm. There's so many vehicle slots, and I think the aircraft gameplay is satisfying on such a flat map. It can be a pain to go from flag to flag, but I really enjoy the firefights that erupt between flags and at them.

Not a bad list TBAG... I'm glad you considered different modes as they do play very differently depending on the game mode. I mostly play Breakthrough and SQD Conquest. I'd have ranked Wake a little higher, but not above Arras and Devastation would have been higher for me too - otherwise pretty spot on! For Squad Conquest I would have ranked Provence a little higher but it deserves the low spot for not having a larger game mode, shame... remember the tease with those lavender fields and the Westland Lysander landing in them? DICE PLS!

To be honest i really enjoy panzer storm because it has a really cool setting and it has a realistic feel to it I agree with how it is focused towards vehicles but that is kind of what battlefield is all about ( large scale battles with many vehicles ) Just my opinion idk

The last sector of Iwo Jima is probably the best sector of any breakthrough map in the game. The fighting on the hilltop of Mt Siribachi is fantastic with the chaotic artillery and tanks pushing forward.

Whaaaat Hamada and Fjell are so fun, Fjell is great for air combat and hamada has a good mix of open areas for vehicles and close quarters for infantry. But at least I think we can all agree Arras is fantastic, especially on Outpost.

@@BillyisAmongUs Nah it provides both the best dog fighting and the best infantry vs air combat. Infantry have PLENTY of chance to fight back, shit players just get annoyed bc having to look up on top of left and right adds an extra dimension of complexity to the game. There's AA all over the map and since there isn't a single land vehicle there is absolutely no reason for anyone to carry a rocket launcher over a flieger. Or better yet just learn to fly. The best counter to a dominating jet pilot is another good pilot (it's also the most fun). But people would rather just complain and moan about how it is unfair. Combined arms is what BF is about, air combat is just as important as infantry or any other playstyle. Only major issue I see with Fjell is bombers ability to nuke half the team at the start of the round. THAT was definitely a dumb design decision, they should have just made jets spawn like 15 seconds after everyone else or something.

“Mercury was the first post launch map I actually enjoyed” wasn’t it like, the second map we got, with Panzerstorm being the first one (and not even available in Breakthrough for a long time)? Ik not really related to the ranks, but Provence and Lofoten could be really cool full scale maps imo. Provence is essentially Arras Mk 2, with the CQC town area and then the surrounding areas of lavender fields, and Lofoten could be a really nice Conquest map with a bunch of small boats and some Schwimmwagens to get around, using the two existing map segments and some smaller islands.

I love Panzerstorm because it is massive and has lots of armoured fighting, it felt like an actual war and a massive battle like WW2 should be, the Eastern Front should be filled with armoured fighting, dare I say it should have 6 or 7 tanks as a minimum and Kursk, 10 or 12 tanks and should be gigantic, but I feel the BF community would hate that because it’s not ‘infantry friendly’, my response is this is the Eastern Front, it should, nay needs to be a grindy hell for infantry

I really enjoy the Underground map. Love the attacking and defending. It can be really frantic just trying to defend or push forward. Feels like a sense of achievement pushing as the axis all the way to point A. Super fun as well, usually my most enjoyable experience of Bfv always know I’m in for a fun time anytime I get it. Least favourite map is the Devastation map. Excellent atmosphere but it’s just super bland for me. Snipers can just sit in corners of the map and snipe away, most of points have multiple access points in the open which make it just super frustrating to defend.

i completely agree with you for the first 2 map (iwo jima and pacific storm): beautiful maps, who saved bf after a disastrous year... then it came patch 5.2 :( .... for the others maps i don't have a ranking... i like and i hate all in the same way
