If you have been struggling with TBS Crossfire binding bug, resulting in a double flashing green LED, TBS has acknowledged the bug and released a fix. In short, the fix is to flash the Crossfire module using TBS Agent M, not Agent X.

Thanks for this. I always rebind my quad whenever I fly. And also when the controller is switch on and you rest the antenna down, the screen will bleep and makes annoying noise and flickering screen

You see, you could've started the video with "lots of people are flying crossfire these days. Excellent range..." and on and on about all of the things FPV people already know about crossfire that's why they use it. Lots of KZbinrs do this, wasting the first 5 minutes of the video with stuff that the vast majority of their viewers already know - even you do this sometimes. So thank you for not doing it this time.

I just bought a brand new nazgul evoque 2 hd with crossfire, I never made any updated my crsf tx on radiomaster tx16s and wasn't able to bind with the rx. I updated it with the tbs Agent X and ont the screen of the radio it kept saying "reload crossfire fw" even tho I followed all the instructions of other videos with the emergency update procedure of the rx I wasn't able to solve this until I followed YOUR instructions with the TBX agent M, thank you Joshua you are the best !

Just bought my first Crossfire setup with the Sixty 9... Was smashing the bind button and emergency firmware on the RX for hours. Forgot that this video existed even though I saw it the other day. I've lost my 7" long range build + GoPro in the bottom of the sea because of this bug. I had somehow bound the reciever to the module but everytime it got disconnected (or microfailsafe in this case) I'd have to manually go into the cf settings and rebind... As you can probably tell that's kinda impossible in a matter of milliseconds of reaction time. Also it was a bad day because RTH didn't work correctly and instead of gaining altitude the quad started descending in the water...rip

Have run into this far too many times with my Tango 2. The half-bound situation. I dreaded binding with it. The usual fix for me if it occurred (without updating like this) was to reset the Nano receiver firmware, then update again, and bind again, letting it sit for at least a minute after being bound. Glad they actually fixed it because this was bonkers.

When you say "reset the Nano receiver firmware", do you mean that special sequence of button presses on the RX itself that are supposed to clear the existing settings and give it a fresh start? I have tried that before when I had issues binding (different than the issue described in this video) and it totally worked. Though I already forgot the button press sequence.

@@strawhatsam Yes. It not only clears the settings - but it’s basically an emergency mode that loads a version of the firmware that’s saved on the nano receiver device itself. Emergency mode restores this firmware in the event something goes really wrong. It is a major pain every time I get a bind failure like this because I know I’ll need to go emergency mode to get to that firmware and then upgrade/bind from there.

Same here! I regret "upgrading" to the Tango 2 Pro. Also Mike Chin with their customer service department has put me through two weeks of endless emails without an answer to help me get it working correctly. My trust in crossfire is about gone and I'm nervous to fly my quads with crossfire.

This is effecting me with a new nano rx flashed with 6.10 and using agentx to update my standard tbs tx (2watt version). So they still have not fixed agentx as of 11/16/21. Is this a means to get everyone on the mobile app lol? Anyway when I try to bind I get reload firmware in agentx error message on the lcd when I try to bind to this rx. So I guess I will try the mobile app run from their website. Edit this worked, have to update from agentm and bind while still in agentm controlling the tx from there.

AgentM did not work for me on trying to bind the XF Sixty9 (using Freedom TX 1.30 and XF 6.07). I tried with both a Tango 2 and Micro TX V2. The Sixty9 would never perform OTA, but would bind, after next power cycle it would go to a red-green blinking cycle. Trappy even had me go to a 6.05 version, and then back to 6.07, but didn't work. Finally punted on the V 6.07 and Sixty9 for now.

I have a question if you don’t mind. I’m brand new to drones. I bought a rtf emax freestyle 2 kit I wear glasses I can’t see far off. I have watched a ton of reviews but I’m not sure I will be able to use the goggles it comes with. I know I need antilog goggles and the controller may need to be upgraded. I have 2 nano rx that lost bind in the past week on 2 different quads. Landed with both of them and when I went to plug new battery in neither was bound anymore. Did emergency recovery on both and neither will bind. Just slow flashing green.

Literally every 3rd firmware update OTA causes this for me. I’ve had to “emergency flashback” and reflash so many times I just stopped updating my micro module so I don’t have to update receivers.

Whelp, this half-fixed my issues with my Tango II. I tried to reflash 6.07 with Agent M as suggested. It does successfully flash the "main firmware" and reboots the radio, but never finishes the process. I reflashed 4.11 with Agent M, and it flashed the main firmware, rebooted, and then flashed the two other required firmwares. Worked fine. I went back and forth from 4.11 to 6.07 about a dozen times. Never got 6.07 to flash fully. I tried on both my mac and my windows machines--exact same behavior. So I'm back to 4.11 and everything seems to be working OK -- we'll see if this solves the problem I've been having for the past week where about 30% of the times I plug in a battery the quad wouldn't bind and I had to unplug the quad, reboot the Tango II, and replug the quad and *most* of the time it worked.

I had this issue and solved it in another way. I got the double green > my tango gets signal and is able to see crossfire nano rx and change its settings. So you just do a factory reset on it. Remove the battery of your drone, restart your remote and plug in the battery of your drone again. The Rx will flash green waiting for a bind like of it was the first time being turned on. As soon as you bind it, it will work correctly. Still waiting for a fix cause I somehow can't use TBS agent M.

Hey Joshua, I tried to downgrade my micro tx v2 to v6.07 via Agent M like you did in the video. During this process I lost the USB connection to the computer some how. Tried it again but the micro tx wont bind via USB to my computer at all... Any ideas?

Put the tx into bootloader mode and re flash it. But I don't know how to force the module into bootloader mode. I eould guess you hold down the bind button while plugging in USB.

Power down the RX. Power down the TX. Power up the TX and start binding. Power up the RX. If it doesn't bind automatically, hit the bind button on the RX. This has worked for me.

Guys be carefull, i just tried to update like bardwell and tbs said and now my tango 2 is completley broken. There is only a solid red light shining, nothing else. I can´t turn it off or on, the PC only sometimes is able to connect and even the tbs custumorservice isn´t really helpfull... After 10+ tries to update which are constantly failing at different points in the progress, i have to send the radio in. Its my only one, so i can´t fly my quads for a time now. Super frustrading.

very disappointed with TBS. its also MUCH worse with the mambo and tracer. mambo still not working. had this and other stuff with the tango2 also, exactly like mr steele got in rage-mode months ago, because of such stuff. i have new mac and pc systems. agent-m is not working with my mambo too. mambo tracer 6.07 got removed from agent x...me and other fpv people around have already lost hours if not days to this crap. on top of that. when we ordered the mambo, tbs store, "in-stock" express-shipping 2-3days. -> nothing happened for 2, 3 weeks, when asked, M.C. from tbs replied it was "pre-order"..that was actually a chinese-style friggin LIE. *edit*: a little honest communication from tbs before we invested hours of work, and an email when the express instock order doesn't go through would have been sufficent for us. we want to support tbs.

I had to use Agent M while working with TBS. What I am curious of is anyone else has an issue with the new firmware not letting you go into DFU mode (.3 quads running HGLRC F722; must remove ground or power from RX to FC to get DFU to work )

This issue happens when a serial device talks on the UART causing the FC to think it should enter DFU mode on that UART instead of the USB port. It is an FC design issue. Move crossfire off the UART. I believe it's only UART 4 that can do this. Or something like that. Anyway, move the receiver to a different UART.

I had this problem this weekend with my nano tx-rx combo after updating to the latest and adding agent x to the Lua script. First it was bound, but it kept loosing signal on the bench. After downgrading back to the previous firmware on both tx & rx, it wouldn't bind again. CycloneFPV made a video addressing this and it worked for me.. either that, or I finally tried enough times that the crossfire figured it had better work, or I was going to smash it with a hammer.. haha! TBS Agent * is one of the worst pieces of software ever written. Pray that it works and shut it down as soon as it does its thing (hopefully). Constantly updating without updating, binding without binding, displaying strange parts of some menus in various devices at different times, showing devices connected that are long gone or offline etc... there are endless ways to get stuck in this software while trying to acomplish a simple thing like binding a new nano rx.
