Dead last in effects loop, with buffered bypass on… without question. If you want you could actually get a pedal order switcher and be able to witch back and forth between loop first / infinite first.

This is exactly my problem ( I guess for many other people too). I would like to put the Infinite at the end of the chain, but before the looper. (No issues with my looper since the DITTOX4 can record and store 2 different loops). Unfortunately, Infinite is a MONO pedal and my chain becomes stereo after Synesthesia, and this is followed by 7 other stereo pedals (delays, synths, reverbs, etc.). So I am stuck placing Infinite before Synesthesia and so it will be affected by everything that comes after it. I think TCE has missed a big point here. This device is eminently ambient-oriented and most ambient boards run stereo delay and reverbs. I still preordered out of curiosity (using your Thomann link). Thanks for this video, BTW. Cheers. /C

Try a pedal order switcher.

Excellent! I ordered the pedal just yesterday. Your video is very helpful and answers one of my main questions: where to put it in the signal chain. I first thought I will put it at the beginning of the chain, but after watching your video I tend to put it at the end just before the Looper. Thanks for the video! Well worth buying you a coffee!

Thanks ! I already have one Infinite. And I will still be waiting for Infinite to be included in the Plethora. It will be fun. Infinite at the beginning of the chain and the possibility of including it in Plethora later :)

I have a question about a noise gate in the chain before the Infinite pedal (and my looper for that matter). I have a TC Electronics Sentry noise gate in my chain using the 4 cable method (it has a send/return on the pedal as well as input/output) so I have the pedal in the chain going into the front of the amp as well as in the FX loop with my time-based effects. This works great for dealing with the noise introduced with some of my high-gain distortion pedals as well as reducing noise in the amp from the preamp stage (kind of like having a gate knob on the amp itself). ?However, the gate also seems to be killing the signal to the Infinite pedal and the looper unless there is signal going through the chain constantly. It is clearly recording the part I want recorded or sustained, but it cuts off as soon as I stop playing anything on the guitar. I am not clear as to why this is happening...any ideas? Any thoughts on how to use these pedals with a gate in the chain?

I’m slightly confused @PedalPlatform can I loop the infinite pedal with a loop station?

Dude! Ok that was actually pretty cool. It somewhat begs a good demo of shoving more stuff into the loop. The idea of mixing and mashing effects per layer may be an idea? Using this to feed a looper in the chain also a great idea 💡 but what about splitting the X5 into two and running loopers around ? Ugggh makes my head spin a bit the possibilities and here midi and an hxstomp would actually lend a lot. Maybe not for video as this is complicated as hell to visualize.

Maybe a silly question... can I put a volume pedal in the effects loop of the Infinite?
@DanKlotz_danferth

I'm running mine at the end before a clone looper. In the loop on the Infinite, I put a Boss ME-80 with expression controlling overdrive. When you add Uni-vibe, delay, and or ring mod it becomes a knob tweaker instrument.

I did something similar with my EHX Superego. Joyo Vision dual multi-modulation pedal & an old Korg multi-FX with inbuilt expression pedal/wah/volume pedal. Not great units on their own (the Joyo has its charms) but aces in the loop of the Superego and/or my old JHS Panther delay, the big one based on the Diamond Memory Lane. I am looking at the TC to replace my Superego.

Hopefully you can help... i have the infinite. Also a TC Spark boost. Also using the Digitech Trio plus. Using all wirh my Boss Katana head. How would i create my signal path where the Digitech does not get affected with the on board fx of the katana and can use the boost and infinite only on the guitar signal?
@PedalPlatform
@PedalPlatform Ай бұрын
Great question! 🤔 There's a few interacting variables in that equation, and I've sold my Katana a couple of years ago and don't quite remember all the options now, but let's give this a shot. Boost: for my style of playing, I'd always place it between the guitar and the amp's input (if you want to use it as a volume boost, you could place it in the Katana's effects loop, but the Katana has other options for that); Infinite: I prefer it after all the gain / drive sections. If I'm relying on amp drive, that means putting it in the effects loop (unless it's a Marshall and I'm running the power amp hard, but I digress). With the Katana, I'd want it in the loop, with a caveat (see below); Trio: definitely in the Katana's effects loop, as the last item in the chain -- but, and this is a big one, the Katana's onboard effects have to be placed before the effects loop (I believe there's an option for that, but you have to confirm), otherwise the Trio's signal will be affected too. So in summary: Guitar > Spark > Katana input > (onboard FX) > Katana FX loop send > Infinite > Trio > Katana FX loop return. The caveat: placing the Infinite in the FX loop, after time based effects, means that the sound you freeze will include all the effects, and might be harder to do without glitches that might be covered up by a reverb. If that's the case, try: a) using a toneprint that has some built-in reverb, or b) if you're playing with a clean tone on the Katana, move the Infinite after the Spark and before the Katana's input. Hope this helps!

@@PedalPlatform Thank you so much. Sometimes the whole signal chain and FX loop scrambles my brain. This sounds like it will work perfectly. Going to use the TC boost as a volume boost, so I will put it right before the infinite in the loop as you suggested. Once again, thanks for the reply. Your expertise is greatly appreciated.
