There I was, scrolling through the IG feed when I came upon a pic from @rn182 of his @tcbinoue 20’s CatBoy jeans and their glorious fades after 12 months of wear. In the comments, I got into a bit of a discussion with @volvo_sufu on the merits of wash vs no wash.

Volvo was of the firm opinion that wash was the way to go. I am more in the no-wash (for a good long time) camp. Seems like the perfect start to a fade-off. Or well, there is no competition here. Just a couple of denimheads seeing how the jeans will fade in over time with one of us washing and one of us not.

I went for the 50s slim fit jeans. Ryo packed them up and sent them over from Japan. And they arrived way sooner than I expected!

Digging the shirt you’re wearing in this video. Any chance you could do a review of affordable wabash/hickory/chambray shirts, similar to the affordable denim video? Cheers

Just got a pair of these in straight cut. Really soft denim and great fit. Ordered from Okayama along with a D’Artisan work shirt. Both pieces amazing but way different

I would love for you to compare the Levi’s Made and Crafted Made in Japan denim. Levi’s info on it is that the denim for this collection was made by Kaihara Denim Mill and rope dyed.

Just got a pair of TCB with the pony hair patch on the back. Picked them up from my local denim shop. Knew nothing about them prior, like them a lot. Thanks for plugging Volvo’s IG, seems like a good follow. About to follow you as well, not sure why I haven’t yet. 😂

Do you know the weight of the denim that was used for the 500 series in the 90’s era Levi’s?
@CeeAreDee

Hmm, there would have been so many models during that time, at a guess, somewhere between the 12 - 14oz mark.

Seen some TCBs that comes with the "twisted leg" from the start... is that model like that?
@CeeAreDee
@CeeAreDee 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex, they are indeed. The leg twist is quite extreme. This is because they are the one wash model. So sewn with Unsanforized denim then washed in the factory to get the shrink out. So you get the leg twist with that.

What's the brand of the shirt that you wear in the video? I really like it
@CeeAreDee
@CeeAreDee 4 жыл бұрын
Haha, I think that is the most asked question on the channel. I should be getting royalties from Levi's 😂. It is a Levi's Made and Crafted shirt from a few seasons back. You can still find them online for a good price tho.

Will you ever try another pair of LVC Or try LMC?
@CeeAreDee
@CeeAreDee 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, quite possibly. A pair of washed Levi's Orange Tab 606s fell in my lap. I love the fit but not the fact the fading was done for me ;) so I might look at getting a raw pair of those one day if the opportunity comes up.

OPEN 'SELVEDGE RUN' FOR EVERYBODY!
@CeeAreDee
@CeeAreDee 4 жыл бұрын
The Selvedge Run is unfortunately dead and gone. It was part of Panorama and it went bankrupt in February. It would not have worked to open the show to the public however. It is a trade show where the goods could be ordered by the stores on a wholesale basis. So the collections were not available to the public or even produced.

Real Levi’s are such garbage compared to pre 1975 jeans .. Pre 1975 Levi’s worn casually almost never wore out .. That was the problem .. Like all companies they’re beholden to their stock holders .. During the 1960s through the 1970s companies built a product life into what ever they made .. So it was with Levi’s .. Now your lucky if Levi’s last 4 years .. They fall apart just when they get broken in and comfortable ..
