@cynthiaf99573 жыл бұрын
Complete newbie (I've really only made the basics like socks/blankets and 1 sweater) I struggled with this one. For some reason, my neck piece got more and more stitches as I went and by the last row it was triple the length I'd started. So the first row and the last don't line up at all for me. Not 100% sure why. It came out very funky and 80's looking for me but I'm not too disappointed in the end. I would like to try again and see what exactly I did so wrong to make the neck part so incredibly funky.
@TCDDIY3 жыл бұрын
Just out of curiosity how many stitches is it off by? I will say sometimes it's easy to accidentally drop a stitch since we're increasing and decreasing so much. Let me know how it goes when you decide to remake it! Would love to hear about the process. 😊
@cynthiaf99573 жыл бұрын
@T CD thanks for commenting back! The turtleneck part that we begin at 25:35 was the piece that I had trouble with keeping the same length all the way around. Everything else lined up pretty well with increases and decreases though. I wish I could post pictures in my comment but the best way to put it is that it didn't come out as a turtleneck but more like a sideways cowl on one of my shoulders. Since they didn't match up when I got all the way around at about 29:33 I decided not to attach them at all and let him hang over my shoulder. A pretty different look than what we were going for but I sort of like it!
@cynthiaf99573 жыл бұрын
I suspect I inadvertently added a stitch or two to each row of the slip stitches. I didn't realize it had grown so much until about 3/4 of the way around the neck line 😂 I started to wonder why each row felt like it was taking more time and decided to lay it out. I quickly realized something didn't go as planned for me. Haha!
@giadaaleia3 жыл бұрын
@@cynthiaf9957 hey I had the same issue!! It turned out that I always picked up the last two stitches at the end which where just the stitches to connect with the sweater. Try using always a stitch marker and count everytime you finish a row, it‘s always the same amount of stitches. That did it for me.

excited to make this!! especially since i'm a beginner crocheter! :D quick question, the tools state that we need a 5 MM hook, however in the beginning of the tutorial at 1:37 you mention a 5.5 MM hook... I'm a bit confused as to which hook size I would need but I'm gearing towards 5MM, would this be alright? thanks for all of your hard work in producing these videos!!! we super appreciate them!

😭 I know that was my fault with the editing. Please use a 5 MM HK! Thanks for asking!

Brilliant! Could I make it with alpaca wool or would that alter the pattern? Thanks

Of course you can use alpaca, just keep up with the measurements and you're good to go! 😊
