115", 5,000 nits and 20,000 dimming zones sure is impressive. but mostly i'm just happy to see somebody other than Sony and Samsung deliver a Jaw Dropping TV to send big boys the message that they actually have to compete and not simply work out an agreement with each other to sell overpriced junk.
@PSYCHOV3N0M
@PSYCHOV3N0M 8 ай бұрын
20,000 dimming zones is NOT impressive whatsoever. 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂 4K has over 8 million pixels. 20,000 zones is nowhere near enough to cover 8 million+ pixels. The LCD TV that came the closest to OLED's contrast ratio is the now-discontinued Hisense U9DG Dual Cell LCD 4K TV which has over 2 MILLION local dimming zones thanks to its secondary 1080p grayscale panel.
@kineahora8736
@kineahora8736 8 ай бұрын
@@PSYCHOV3N0M that’s why it’s mini LED and not microLED If you had as many local dimming zones as pixels, It’s literally the next technology🙄 and right now that next technology cost over $100,000, so… And as for being accurate - I don’t think we should call it “4K TV”- to me that would mean 4000 x 4000 = 16M pixels. In fact it’s 3840 x 2160 pixels (which doesn’t even have any relationship to 4K anything) = 8.3M pixels. We should be calling it 8.3M TV in my opinion…

@@kineahora8736 The naming "4K" does not refer to the resolution but to the horizontal pixel count. It derives from "DCI 4K" (Digital Cinema Initiatives) which has a resolution of 4096×2160! 3840x2160 is the resolution that is used in the consumer market because it keeps the 16:9 aspect ratio...

I helped a friend wall mount a 100U8K. It absolutely destroys every picture quality aspect of my JVC NX7. The Hisense is brighter, sharper, better contrast, better black levels, better shadow detail, better color depth and accuracy, better screen uniformity, Dolby Vision, lower input lag, 120hz VRR, much less expensive, etc. The only advantage the projector has is size. The JVC will be my last projector, my next display will be an extra large mini LED. Oh and for the dummies in comments yelling about the $27K price of this TCL: the JVC NZ9 cost $23K which does not include the screen, interconnects, sound system, ceiling mount, installation, etc. The NZ900 will be close to $30K and both will not yield anywhere close to the picture quality of a much cheaper direct display. Plus unlike JVC and Sony projectors, these new large displays will come down in price very quickly and there are currently 100” LEDs available now for less than $3K.

Nothing wrong with being excited about a tiny 115 inch tv, but thinking it puts projectors in trouble is lunacy. 1. The tv costs $20,000 for a 115 inch screen. I bought a brand new Bbianlyy native 4k projector for $189. It comes with bluetooth, electronic keystone, hdr10 support and I get a 151 inch screen. 2. You need a crane to transport that heavy monstrosity to your house and at least two men to install it. I caried my projector home in my backpack, set it on a shelf and was watching it 5 minute after I got home. 3. The bigger the tv screen, the more annoying reflections you have to del with. haven't had a reflection issue since 2017. 4. The TCL will always be a niche product that will not appeal to the average consumer. The best selling tv' on Amazon is a Vizio 40 inch that sold 10,000 units last month, The TCL 65 inch moved 8000 units. The best selling projector was the Happrun 1080p that moved over 10,000 units last month and costs $69.00. With budget 4k projector prices dropping in price, there's no way a $20,000 tv could put the projector market in BIG trouble. It's TOO little and expensive to cause even a blip in the projector market.

@budala1969 Maybe you missed the point. 2020 I bought a 1080p for $238. The cheapest 1080p was $189. Now you can get native 1080p for $69. The Bbianlyy may not be the greatest native 4k projector but it's the first native 4k for under $200. It's just a matter of time before other native 4k projectors start selling for $100 or less. Now you laugh at the comparison but as I pointed out, the average consumer doesn't buy Bugatti.

I have the 3500 nit TCL C855 65" and it is outstanding. Used to own an LG G1 OLED until it got burn-in. The TCL is so much brighter, life like and sharper. 0.4 nits black levels, no blooming whatsoever and I use subtitles a lot. Get Apple TV+ and it will make the C855 shine. The Google TV app on it is good. The Picture options are outstanding in variety. Out of the box quality viewing. The remote is simple, elegant and easy to use. Compliments, kudos to TCL for this TV. Hands down the best TV I have every owned. Almost half the price of OLED makes it all that much better.

Has TCL reliability improved? Last TCL tv I purchased in 2018 for my sports bar lasted only 11 months. It was on for about 10, 11 hours daily. Still, my Samsung and LG tv's still working great after 6, 7 years of usage the same amount of hours. I was trying to be cheap. I'm considering buying this 115 inch for my bar but reliability is my biggest concern, thoughts any one?

115 inch TV, sounds awesome. So many dimming zones but it's TCL and the price is too much considering the fact that its algorithm isn't able to beat the X95L. Hope TCL and Hisense can at least match the X95L's algorithm one day, with their number of zones they'll be able to give great value to us consumers. I guess since no one else has a 115 inch TV, TCL can price it what they want, makes sense. But still would've expected a bit better local dimming performance. At least it's better than Samsung tho lol

I watched earlier videos of this TV. The first I saw said it was made in China and was not permitted to be exported outside China (but the reviewer managed to smuggle it out somehow). A later video gave the reason it was not allowed to be exported. It was simply due to its size. It is too big to easily transport to other countries. I don't know if that will change.

@EvilijoUK: 8K should make a difference at this screen size (though we wouldn't go so far as to say it's massive), but the brightness would drop due to lower light transmittance, and the higher power consumption probably wouldn't pass EU energy regulations.

there is something called Apparent Field of View , or Apparent FOV . The further away you are from something the smaller it gets . Say you see a small tree in the distance , you say well this is a small tree . You come closer its actually 100x bigger then you . But now you are too close , you cant see all of the tree . Hence there is optimal viewing point to absorb the quality and awesomeness of that tree . Same goes for TVs , i have 65inch TV , but i use it as a monitor im a foot away , or about half a meter . Its giant . Too big . But i got it so that i can watch Movies from my bed and i dont want to keep a monitor near by , since its OLED , i can make a window , or make it as big or small as i want . So its all good . I change the size depending on where im looking from , optimal Field of View for a TV kind of goes 2.5x its size , so for 65inch TV , you sit 2.5x times that or some 200inchs away . And you can do this down to 8 inch monitors , its all the same . Only difference is the further away you are the better , focusing your eyes on near things for long strains them and leads to eye sight problems . But theoretically you can take a 10inch tablet , and make it look like 65inch TV , just watch it from 25inches away , it will be the same size as 65inch TV . So you need to calculate the size of TV , or get an OLED , its all black so you can resize it , at least on PC you can . And 4K is good enough to do that .

Is your electrical bill also in big trouble with that 950 watt consumption? Or do you also have a sponsor who pays your electric bill? @nemakis

Do you know of any newer projectors that can deliver similar HDR levels and contrast?) As far as power consumption is concerned, even an ignorant person realizes that a very large TV panel will also consume the corresponding electricity. I imagine the same question about who will pay for the electricity, you will also have it for the reviews concerning powerful home cinema amplifiers and 500-1000 watt subwoofers. if you can't pay 1000kwh per year the average consumption for this television, then this (or any large) television does not fit your financial profile.
