Good stuff RD! You already know how I feel about the way Randy, Bernie and Felder were treated by Henley and Frey! Keep it up brother!

It’s hard for me to imagine Randy going after Glenn Frey like that. It goes against his personality in such a huge way.
@ccarley9133Күн бұрын
I read ( like Doc said) that Randy had bad anxiety- and when you watch the video for take it to the limit, Glenn is watching Randy while Randy goes in for those really high notes- but then smiles when he hits them. Must have been hell being together all the time back then…😂
@karenstephens8788Күн бұрын
@ yeah I know he did. I just wish he had the confidence to realize that it was HIS song. He could have changed the end and taken pressure off of himself and sung it anyway he bloody well wanted to. He didn’t have to go for those high notes if he didn’t want to. I’m just happy that he had the guts to give it to Frey when he was being bullied after that show.

All the differences were between Frey and the others,Leadon,Miesner then Felder. One common denominator, Glen Frey. Frey and Henley even had a problem in the late 70’s. Frey was obviously a complete self centred arsehole. Henley isn’t much better, by being a coward for letting it all happen. Who does drugs with minor prostitutes ? Great music that will never change by those brilliant musicians. Take felder’s & Walsh’s guitars out of those songs, and you have NOTHING ! As Walsh said, Randy didn’t know how talented he really was !

I agree about Frey and Henley's attitude. But, to say "Take felder’s & Walsh’s guitars out of those songs, and you have NOTHING" tells me you either 1) know nothing about the Eagles or 2) just don't like Frey and Henley and blowing off hot air from your hind end. The Eagles greatest hits 1971-1975 was one of the greatest selling albums of all time. Felder only appeared on a few songs of that album and Walsh wasn't there at all. Frey and Henley both had very successful solo careers after the 1980 breakup while Felder released one album that flopped and Walsh did nothing but turn into a severe alcoholic and cocaine addict. Spending much of his time and money on young hookers. This by his own admission.

The Eagle s sucked.Randy Mercer was a very good musician with a lot of talent.More than Eagles could ever have
@ccarley913319 сағат бұрын
YA! The Eagle s sucked! 🙄 You should march right on down to the Sphere in Las Vegas or at one of their many other tour dates coming up in 2025 and tell them!!!! Go right on up to Don Henley or Joe Walsh - Timothy B Schmit- and tell them how much they sucked, and that Randy Mercer was all the talent! After they ask you who the hell Randy Mercer is- you can explain how you just are looking for some attention and that you meant Randy Meisner - and you’re going to go practice your spelling in your basement- or what ever insanely kick ass job you must have since, you can talk shit about a group of men who have created & given incredible music to the world for 50 years. Having a different opinion is one thing- being a disrespectful illiterate jerk is another.
@donaldbutcher1260Күн бұрын
The title of this video is misleading to say the least. Neither Meisner nor Ledon were " forced " out of the band. Ledon quit because he didn't care for the direction that the music was taking, too pop sounding and Meisner left because of poor health after months of non-stop touring! 😮
@RiverDocsКүн бұрын
Sorry, but I respectfully disagree with you. Especially with Randy. So I see nothing that is misleading. You have an opinion just like I do on why and how they left. Mine are in this video based on interviews with Bernie and Randy, Both of whom said they felt a lot of pressure to march to Glenn's drum or feel his wrath. Their songwriting was taken away and not used on albums, Randy ended up in a physical fight with Glenn and Bernie came very close...all out of frustration because their rights in the band were compromised. So I feel the title fits very well. Both of them leaving a well established act such as the Eagles was not as simple as you are trying to make it out. Way more to it than that.
