@@DavidsDoseofItaly Hi David! Do you have a video on where the train station entrances are that are close to the main tourist attractions? Would you recommend taking trains around Rome or walking? - AGian, thanks for the videos. They really are great!
@DavidsDoseofItaly5 жыл бұрын
@@candaced5848 I do but the answer is scattered among my videos so to speak. I can answer that here! Fortunately the names of the places often match the metro stop. For example: Line B: Colosseo= the Colosseum Circo Massimo= Circus Maximus San Paolo Basilica Piramide = The gigantic Roman pyramid which is right near the Testaccio neighborhood Line A: Spagna= Piazza di Spagna San Giovanni = a cool papal chapel and the holy stairs, stairs where Christ walked on. That’s in my metro A video btw! Other stops worth mentioning are: Ottaviano= Vatican Flaminio= Piazza del popolo To get around Rome, I recommend walking when possible and enjoy exploring the city center, or take the metro if the distances are long or if you’re tired. Trains within Rome do exist but they don’t have as many stops as the metro and buses. You could however take the train from Termini to go to the Vatican (S. Pietro station) which from Termini does in fact make sense. Termini-Ostiense more or less takes you to Piramide. Other than that I recommend the tips I mentioned above I hope that helps. Hi Betsy! Thank you for the comment and subscribing! I don't think you need to validate it because they will scan it on the train and I believe that's all you need to do. When it doubt ask the staff at the train station. In Italian you'd say "Mi scusi, devo timbrare questo?" You shouldn't have to exchange it for a ticket, but if you do in fact go to the biglietteria and get a ticket then yes, that you do have to stamp (timbrare). Hope that helps!

Hi David! Thank you for your kind words! Buying them now is an excellent idea and I frequently buy them online. The video was made for both scenarios but I did have those people in mind who arrive at the station without tickets and need to know where to go. Fortunately, Termini is not full of twists and turns so it's not hard to get around. The downstairs area is a bit confusing and I got a video covering that if it can help(it's mainly for people who need to get the metro from termini). Anyway, before you enter the area where you have the platforms, they'll want to see your tickets. You can easily show them the bar code on your phone and then also the conductor will want to see it as well. You can show her/him either a paper ticket or your phone. Personally I print it as well just in case my phone malfunctions or the battery dies. I guess I take my accent for granted! Thx!

In regards to being able to board a train in Italy it's not exactly the same scenario as a plane where you need to get a test right before flight time which is what I did 2 weeks ago when I came back from the US. You will need to show your vaccination card and it must contain the following information:Name, dates of vaccinations, names of vaccines, who issued your vaccination card and it's fine if your card is written in English. This is what I have understood so far. This is also an ever changing situation so it's important to check the latest info. Hi Samia and thank you for sharing my channel to others 🥰 Well to save money and eat well In tourist areas I’d avoid the following: places where you mostly see other tourists, places where waiters try to entice you to get you to go into the restaurant. It can be hard to pinpoint a nice place to eat however you can always save money by going to a place that says Pizza al taglio, tavola calda. Look for places that have a lunch menu and also use the fork and trip advisor apps to check out what’s around you. Look for ratings and reviews. Check out this video I made where I recommend 11 good restaurants.
