Man your tutorials are so thorough. Out of all of the "big" mix tutorial channels here I think yours is the most underrated. Great and thanks so much!

Very good video. Been using this for a while and did not really know all the features, for example the saturation didnt do much and now i know why. One thing i like is not seeing what it does, it forces you to go by what you're hearing and not letting your eyes to guide you.

Very Nice. Smoothed out the drums and definitely made them clearer and more distinctive. I can't say how much I appreciate Modern Mixing. It's the best!

Thanks very much for this informative review. I'm going to download this and give it a good try. So much info you presented; I had to stop it several times to get time to write it in wording I could immediately apply to my DAW. I thank you for your generous spirit!

Thanks for the introduction to this EQ.

I would love someone to go over the mid side bit. As when I tried, it didn’t seem to react the same way to conventional m/s encoding eq’s.

Many thanks for the review! I really like the idea to grey out knobs or entire sections when they're bypassed - this makes it very easy and quick to see what is active, and what isn't. Would you buy this plug-in, if it wasn't free? :)
@ModernMixing10 жыл бұрын
Your Welcome David. Let me put it to you this way. It has already taken the place of other EQ's that I've paid for, during certain mixing situations.

Modern Mixing Ok, I have to try it, then :) I really like the Baxter EQ by VOS, so this one is surely good as well.

Cool. .... Can you really hear a 0.5 in or decrease ? I Always thought that people can only hear 1 db at the most. So I am Always EQing 1 dB at a time. Or is it a mastering thing?
@ModernMixing10 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeroen. It depends on the EQ but more importantly your room. I sit for hours in extreme focus so I've very sensitive to slight boosts. It takes time to be able to hear these little subtlties and truthfully I'm still learning myself. I think this is why the best engineers have the greatest taste because they know when too much is too much or too little is too little.

Volume is definately hard to hear in less then 1db but if a source is rich in a certain frequency cutting and boosting that 1db (dependent on the q and slope of the band) can be heard in a good room on good speakers. But yeh it is very dependant, that said sometimes its a good idea to eq agressively just to see what that may sound like.
@jeroenfigee10 жыл бұрын
JimijaymesGuitarist"that said sometimes its a good idea to eq agressively just to see what that may sound like" Yes. That is precisely what I do, and then I say; ... let's see if I can go less on this, and less, till it adds the quality without losing the original. If you compare this to the original, generally speaking, you come up with better results :-) / ThanX 4 your post.

When you download this free plugin it is a dll file. What do you use to open a dll file on a pc?
@ModernMixing10 жыл бұрын
You don't actually open the .dll file. What you have to do is place the .dll into your plugins folder so that your DAW can see it and from there you will be able to access the plugin in your DAW.

too much reverb on drums, just eq first the drums reverb and review your dry/mix relation, then apply this great free EQ, IMO much better than lots of expensive ones on sale, i don´t like your rendition in the AC guitar but it is a question of taste, the plug is awesome
