Thanks for delving into the overwhelming world of Dragon Con with me . Trying to get to a couple other downtown things outside the convention but the black hole of nerdy is strong. Only another day or so and back to basics

You're making me feel nostalgic. My buddy worked in that building and we'd meet there and eat at Chick-Fil-A in the food court before heading to a Falcon's game. We'd all go down to DC for the day and it wore us out, but it's great fun. We were wagering on FB about where you were headed next. Many guessed Disney World with Tim.

I have so many memories in the Omni/CNN center. Ran Into Ray Harryhausen in 82 or 83. I first saw The Beast Master at the theater that is no longer there. The Last Battle of Atlanta was in the Omni before it became the Phillips Arena.

Haven't been to ATL since the early-mid 90's when my dad lived there. It was crazy back then. He used to get me cheap flights from Jax to Atl to go visit him. Good times, but yeah even when there isn't a convention going on it's a busy town. Thanks for sharing!
@JamesAllmond8 жыл бұрын
It's not forgotten! All of us who work there know about it and the tour even mentions it! There even used to be an ice skate arena that was turned into a sunken studio where the atrium is now! Sid and Marty, where are thee? Enjoy Atlanta, couldn't get me near it this weekend, and I really do work in CNN Center... where the no photography signs are there is generally a studio right behind the glass, you were ok videoing in the public areas...

Part of the opening to the Krofft Supershow was filmed in there. As I understand it, the theme park was expensive and downtown Atlanta in the 1970s was not a safe place for people to bring their families.

If not for you, "The Woo", we would not be able to see and experience so many places. Side note, The reason I personally choose to live vicariously through you, is the kindness that always festooned through your vlogs, it's just majestic. I'm slowly adjusting my life to soon start my own vlog. With that being said, if your ever in the nether regions of South Louisiana, let me know and I will show you a few of my secret locations that only a couple lucky people know of. Stay safe at Dragoncon. Vlog......Over.

I can tell you exactly why the world of Sid & Marty Kroft closed. It sucked! They basically only had about 3 rides and no real theming. I remember going down to, what is now, CNN Center to go to the amusement park and to go ice skating. I am a native of Atlanta and definitely old enough to remember it all.

Wholly Bat Cave, Wonder Bread! I cannot freakin believe you posted this Adam. I was born in 69 and my whole life I remembered this theme park, but alas, it was like a dream memory. I could remember it but because I was so young, I didn't know if it was really there or a dream. Right where your finger was pointing near the globe there was a dark ride, at the top of the escalator. This place was trippy to say the least! At least now after all these years I know that I am not crazy and this failed Sid and Marty Krofft Park really existed. I can truly once again "Sleep Well"

I love cons I truly do, but the ones here all year round in FL are nice because they have cool vendors with cool people but they arent maxed out to capacity. I think a con is much more fun when u have room to actually breathe and can actually look around n meet new people. It looked like you could barely move around let alone get into the vendor room.... finally. If you're dressed up in an already hot costume n can barely move around... idk how you guys do it in there with it maxed out to capacity. hats off to ya!
