'ജാതി പറയാതിരിക്കുക' എന്നാല്‍ വാക്കിലും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിയിലും ചിന്തയിലും ജാതിയെ നിരാകരിക്കുക എന്നാണര്‍ത്ഥം. ജാതിസ്‌കാനറുമായി നടക്കുന്നതും സഹജീവികളെ ജാതിയധിക്ഷേപത്തില്‍ കുളിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും അതിന്റെ വിപരീത പ്രവര്‍ത്തികളാണ്. ജാതി പറയരുത് എന്ന് പറയുന്നതില്‍ ''പറയരുത്''എന്ന വാച്യാര്‍ത്ഥവും പ്രധാനമാണ്. കാരണം ജാതി പറഞ്ഞുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന ഒന്നാണ്. അങ്ങനെയേ അതുണ്ടാവൂ. പറഞ്ഞും പ്രചരിപ്പിച്ചുമാണ് അതിനെ സ്ഥാപനവല്‍ക്കരിക്കുന്നത്, തലമുറകളിലൂടെ കൈമാറുന്നത്. പറഞ്ഞില്ലെങ്കില്‍ അറിയില്ല. നിങ്ങള്‍ ഇന്ന ജാതിയാണെന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞതെങ്ങനെയാണ്? സ്വയം കണ്ടെത്തിയതോ, അതോ ശാസ്ത്രീയ പരിശോധനകള്‍ വഴി തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞതോ? അല്ല നിങ്ങളോട് ആരോ പറഞ്ഞതാണ്, മാതാപിതാക്കാളാകാം, സുഹൃത്തുക്കളാകാം....നിങ്ങള്‍ ഇല്ലെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞപ്പോഴും നിങ്ങളെ ബോധ്യപ്പെടുത്തിയതാണത്. ജനിതകമോ ശാരീരകമോ ആയ യാതൊരു തെളിവും ജാതി എന്ന നാലാംകിട കെട്ടുകഥയ്ക്കില്ല. ചാത്തനും മറുതയുംപോലെ അതൊരു അന്ധവിശ്വാസമാണ്. സമൂഹത്തെ ശ്രേണിവല്‍ക്കരിക്കാന്‍ പലതരം നുണകള്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കാം. ജാതി അത്തരത്തിലൊന്നാണ്. (4) എല്ലാ അന്ധവിശ്വാസങ്ങളും പറഞ്ഞുപരത്തുവയാണ്. വിശ്വാസികള്‍ ഇല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ദൈവം ചത്തുപോകുമെന്ന് പറയുന്നതുപോലെ ജാതി പറയാന്‍ ആളില്ലെങ്കില്‍ ജാതി ഉണ്ടാകില്ല. ഇനി ജാതിപറച്ചില്‍ എന്നാല്‍ സനാതനസത്യം തുരീയത്തിലൂടെ മനസ്സിലാക്കിയെന്ന ഭാവത്തില്‍ ''ജാതി സമൂഹത്തില്‍ ഉണ്ട് '' എന്നൊരു ടെക്‌സറ്റ് മെസേജ് ജാതിമന്ത്രകാര്യലയത്തിലേക്ക് അയക്കലാണോ? അല്ല. അതൊരു ജാതിപോഷണ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനമാണ്. ജാതിസമൂഹത്തില്‍ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ജാതിപറയരുത് എന്ന് പറയുന്നത്. മതം ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടാണ് മതം പറയരുതെന്ന് പറയുന്നത്. ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലേ അരുതെന്ന് പറയേണ്ടതുള്ളൂ. അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ അതിന്റെ ആവശ്യമില്ല. ജാതിയുടെ പ്രഭാവം കുറയുമ്പോള്‍ അതാഘോഷിക്കണമെന്ന് പറയുന്നത് അതുകൊണ്ടാണ്. അതല്ലാതെ ജാതിയില്ലെന്ന പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ ജാതിപൊക്കോളും എന്നാണ് ലവര് പറയുന്നത് എന്ന രീതിയിലുള്ള വൈക്കോല്‍പ്പുരദഹനമല്ല. -Ravi Chandran C

@thambohu yes ..true free thinking is not an absolute state. But I think what matters is how we choose to interact with believers in order to make them lean more towards rational thinking.

@thambohu I think in this context 'following ' refers to the kind of following which is more fanatical in nature , rather than being influenced by freethinker figures. It is true that there are many of such fanatical freethinkers in the mainstream freethinkers groups, who became so blind towards the actual idea of freethinking, because they always wanted to take it as a call for a cold war against religious people. They believe being "freethinker " or atheist inherently burdens them with a purpose of deconverting people.

@thambohu It may be my poor choice of words, but what I was trying to say was that I think there is a difference between following an admirable figure as a noble pursuit and blindly becoming a fan of that person( even though there is no clear line between them). We all have people who we look up to. We have people to whom we turn to get inspiration and for drawing ideas and information. But that doesn't mean those people we idolize are immune to our criticism. People who follow their idol as a noble pursuit will be doing the same. ie they will criticize their model figures if they make any mistakes . But that is something fanatics never do. Typical fanatics attack anyone if they tried to point out any mistake made by their model figure or they even make unfair moves to justify them to any extent. I hope we don't want the second type following method. It actually makes them unable to think freely and unbiased. Such people would refute a reasonable suggestion if someone else said that and kindly engulf if the their idolized figure said that. ( I was aware of the deconverting term, but I chose this term because I thought it will sound less of like a ' ghar vapasi' thing. I treated convertion in the literal sense as a trait of religions. Even though some people are trying to assign an evangelical nature to freethinking , it is still not a religion yet. So I thought the term deconvert is much appealing. Maybe I am wrong )
