Teac is a pretty old school name in HiFi music. I remember they used to make some top notch amplifiers back in the day, but you don't hear of them much these days. A nice little device I'm sure but not sure I'd carry that extra bit of kit unless it was seriously awesome enough to warrant it. Build quality certainly looks good.

sorry for the reply but i did try the dragonfly 1.2 and 1.5. and i really wanted a battery build in and i dint know the teac dac was going to sound better. it sounded better with my ue ultimate ears earbuds 900s

As a DAC, it's just too laidback. As an amp, it isn't loud enough. But can't complain at that price though.

this amp is probably better for earphones or ear monitors they don't require as much power he'll I heard 10% on dac is already hurting ears with ear monitors hence why they are louder than headphones

Save your time and money, this DAC is weak. The looks and build is the only nice thing about it. My mac has better sound than this, bass is weak and cannot hear sounds that other dacs can give you.

Achisachis73 When you had or if you still do have it; did you try the firmware update for it? I'm surprised cus it's one of my favorites. The dual amp created a nice warm sound to my ears but we're all built differently.

too late, I returned it. I was not happy with it since I wanted something ready out of the box, I do not understand why manufacturer makes the customer spend extra time and effort. Maybe for a lower price but I paid full price. I may get it in the future. Does it have good strong bass? I want the entire range so that I have options. I like the Xduoo, plenty of power and strong bass.

Achisachis73 IMHO I love the bass, especially because it doesn't have a bass boost switch. To me that says we are confident in our amplifiers sound signature. It performed exceptionally with my DT770 250 ohms, Sony MDR-1A, Fostex TH-X00 Mahogany, and it even gave my sub-bass anemic Mayflower T50RP V1's some oomph. I also felt a difference with dual amping by the OPA1652 as opposed to my other Burr Brown DAD the Fiio E18 Kunlun. What headphones were you using at the time?

Great review there! I've been hearing the brand TEAC from my father since I was a kid. I am looking for a DAC/Amp that is Apple MFI certified for my trusty old iPod Classic 7th Generation when I stumbled upon your video. Since this is an Apple MFI Certified device, I was still in doubt if it will work in my old device though I can also use the DAC function in my iPhone 6+ since it is in the list of compatible devices. I still use my iPod Classic because I have dedicated it as my DAP instead of putting all my ALAC songs in my iPhone. I am considering this because it can drive my power hungry Sennheiser HD600. Any suggestions before I purchase this? Thanks!

If you use the built-in music app you can play high res. Spotify was just my go to music app for songs I didn't have in Hi-Res.

This doesn't have Bluetooth, so no. The only way you could is if the headphones support a 3.5mm line.

I didn't use it with any headphones that had a inline remote. To be fair this isn't a very portable setup, so it's not something that would be high priority to those users.

I own the HA-P50 and a pair of t50rp Mk3's. It is adequate to power them, but not ideal in my opinion. This combo sounds fine, but the mk3's really shine with a little more power.
