But we take personality quizzes on so many job applications now, even entry level jobs like Target. People who are put in positions of power, especially over children, like a teacher should need mental health evals every few years or something. Not just to prevent these kind of events but stress and anxiety too. With school pew pews happening now teachers aren’t in the same mental state they were decades ago. I would be interested to see why the increase in female defendants too. Why are so many cases coming up? What has changed in them or society that’s led to this happening. We won’t ever learn that if we don’t do mental evals and monitor people in these positions. If we don’t learn why/how then we can’t protect our kids as well and their protection is top priority.

as a psychology major focusing on child psych, i hope the parents SWIFTLY put him in therapy. They can't just rely on their parenting to guide him through this time, it wont be enough. This is insanely traumatic and the child doesn't even know, he probably blames himself for "getting caught", and all the chaos that ensued after, so when he gets older this will manifest into very disturbing things if it is not treated properly. I hope the kid and parents are going to be okay soon.
