She is so engaged with you nothing else matters. Dog owners need to understand that they need to be exciting to the dog. Thank you Jamie .

Hey Robert, I watch lots of your tuition videos. This is Dartmoor in Devon, a great place to hang out with the hound.👍

Glad to see this, as at first I was repetitively whistling to get him to come. Thought I was overdoing it with the whistle & treats. Love seeing proper videos like this, rather than before & after and no middle.

Bloody brilliant I’m going to try this method I’ve got a 4 year old working cocker spaniel she’s not bad off the lead but she could be better

This area is one that has fewer distractions than the Clip 1. Controlling the level of distractions is an important factor. There are enough natural stimuli here to keep the dog interested in getting distracted, but not so stimulating as to keep the dog at high drive in prey mode. This sort of intentional control of the level of distraction sets the dog and the handler up for a successful session of learning. I am curious to know if the tone function of an e-collar will work as well as a whistle? Great videos. Useful techniques. Thank you Jamie.

Love this!! Is she training on an empty stomach and you are feeding her her meal like this, or are these just treats?

What kind of food/reward do you use?

It works with my adult black lab,almost immediately. She charges at me when she hears the whistle and also if she sees me putting into my mouth!

just come across this series, i have a working line springer spaniel inherited from my dad who passed away and he isnt at all interested in tearts whilst outside. Is there any way of making this work with a toy/ball?

Wonder if that's where I'm going wrong ?? Letting her go too far before I recall. Short distances done quickly. She also knows the whistle and responds in sterile environments but when something more exciting is going on... Nothing
@denwoz77882 жыл бұрын
So do you always need to have a whistle to do a recall? Or do/can you integrate a recall command word as well?
@gaylemowat6833 жыл бұрын
when you blow the whistle is it just purely a food reward or are you using e collar at the same time as the whistle?
@JamiePenrithDogTraining3 жыл бұрын
There is absolutely zero e-collar use here. She hasn’t even felt the e-collar yet. That speed is generated as much through my own animation as it is through the food reward. Early recall training is like a dance - one leads and the other follows.

Thanks. Also thanks for doing this step by step update type thing. Looking forward to.watching the rest of the journey.

Trying this with my Lurcher that I found as a stray 😂- been pulled over twice now when she’s seen a Goose and hares- training before broken bones (mine not hers …..)

looks to be 5-7 months but it would be helpful if you could tell us age of the dogs you're training

I've tried this with my dog and he still has zero interest in coming back to me, with both food or toys 😔
