Stretches, both dynamic before the exercise and static after the exercise, can help you maintain full mobility and range of motion, ultimately, i think it makes you stronger, and reduces the risk of injuries. I think it has also been associated with greater hypertrophy if i remember my Jeff Nippard.
@Destroyer199419952 жыл бұрын
It is always better to stretch
@the9th962 жыл бұрын
100%. I would also add though that one can be TOO mobile and have TOO much range of motion. A friend of mine who's a lifetime powerlifter, never had an injury in his life - recently decided to start doing more mobility work and use larger ranges of motion along with stretching and he tore his achilles tendon from just a warmup bodyweight lunge where he stepped a little too far from his usual stride. His doctor said he went too far on mobility and all that strong stiff tendons he got from lifting weren't used to being so stretched. Stretching is good but also remember what kind of specific sport or activity you're doing! Larry never overdoes it with stretching and mobility. Range of motion is actually where you're at risk of injury. Stretch but don't do too much of it depending on your sport! And don't do too large a range of motion than you need to!

One thing Larry ignored while giving this guy dead lift tips is this guys body type is long legs/short torso which sucks for any motion where you try to reach for the ground or lift heavy. Body mechanic are only going to help him to a certain degree. His body type is good for long distance running or jumping sports like basketball, volleyball, etc. If he's going to dead lift recreationally he should use a platform to raise the weight a couple inches.
