She's such a nice mare! She tries so hard to get it right but of course, it will take time for her to "get it" and understand what you are asking. At least she continued to try without too much fussing. She is a nice mare and whoever her human is they will be lucky to have her.

I also appreciate your input as far as equitation from your pre-gaited horse riding. And i reslly, really like that you teach from the saddle perspective a lot...it gives me a visual as to what the animal is doing during each gait and what you are doing with your reins and hands and legs.

Awesome! Thank you!

Thank you for these tips. My older walker has a very rocking chair canter, but my younger SSH/TWH has a shorter stride and his canter is choppy and rough. Going to use a hill to practice getting him to smooth out. He used to be super pacey but he is now veering more toward the trot. I used poles and cavalettis to get him to hop into the canter like several of your videos have shown and now when i just roundpen him without the poles, he is picking up the correct lead each way better and not cross-cantering as much. I am glad you highlighted using a hill to aid in getting the canter because he won't do it on flat ground, easily.😊

So glad it's helping, no one realizes how hard it can be to teach them until you get one that doesn't canter. But it sounds like you're making great improvements. Keep up the good work!

For a horse that has diarrhea starting when you saddle him, prepping him to get into the trailer and then the beginning of the trail ride would you suggest giving them some magnesium?

Magnesium can help. Calming 101 supplement amzn.to/4eujCWW works pretty well

Is she still a Tennessee Walking Horse, and is she still being forced to wear stacks? If so then you get a big "Don't Like". I hope that you have saved her from the cruelty that Tennessee Walking Horses suffer.

Not all TWH are in stacks. That is the big lick. I do all natural just barefoot or regular shoes. We have nothing to do with the big lick
