His teaching technics are very similar to mine, interact and engage students in real life situations by eliciting the grammatical points. I feel fortunate to have taken CELTA years ago to implement the approach I lerant easily with my English learners. 😀

What strikes me the most about the lesson is that the teacher doesn´t have to deal with behavioural problems at all. It´s almost like an utopian class. Very useful information, though.

I'm not surprised by the students' engagement really. They're adults and it seems they're already living in an English speaking country so they're in dire need of developing their communication skills to ease the pain.

Hello, my friend ! I would like to give u m'y way of presenting grammar lessons and i would be so thankful if u givee me ur feedback . NB i use thé inductive méthode Well , 1st i interact with m'y kids through questions in a context (communicatively ) ,then i write 3_4 sentences on thé board which thé target language is mentioned then ask them to repeat chorly .NB i write all the sentences with one colour , i.e i dont write the target lge with diferent colour , then i move directely to thé tasks i ask them to do tasks 1st one :task based form and 2nd one : meaning based form. Then , i ask them to state thé rule by themeselves after doing thé tasks by themselves of course then i ask them to write sentences communicative task this is thé last one . this is a ppu méthode what do y think?

Hi CUP, I'm writing a 180-Hour Higher Certificate in TESOL and I'm referencing various videos within the course for trainees to watch to learn more. Is it OK for me to include a link in my course for TEFL Lemon trainees to learn more about the importance of grammar in language teaching?

Thank you so much for your information. I actually had no idea what book would be suitable to be used for teaching communicative grammar as many of the books are mostly highlighted on the grammar teaching with less speaking activities. I am also thsnkful that you have posted such inspiring video.

You are not challenging them enough, you are treating them as kindergarten students...they are adults ...you have to activate their background knowledge more and you will see a faster understanding....and subsequently a better learning,....

Learning is a step by step process can't you see those people are from different countries. Do you teach a 2 yr. Old to read instead of teaching them first how to hold a spoon?

This is so boring. If your students are doing gap filling activities and similar activities, it shouldn't be considered teaching grammar communicatvely. This is the traditional way to teach grammar.

wrong ...wrong...wrong.....instead of a TS activity it should have been a SS activity, they at this stage are able to ask and answer these questions in pairs....very slowly you are falling in a teacher centered class.....

Wow youre quick to criticise. Maybe's hes not doing to optimal approach according to your knowledge, but this is from Cambridge so a lot of it is really good. I'd love for someone to watch you and be like... "wrong... wrong... wrong.." You sing a song, "wrong wrong wrong" You park slightly less than optimally... "wrong wrong wrong" You don't cook with the best ingredients for your dinner, "wrong wrong wrong" Hahahaha so lame

Your lack of knowledge triggers you to answer that way....I bet you have no idea what is a "teacher centered class" or "blended learning" or ABK ...you may check on the internet.....for your info ...I teach teachers.....Iam a non-native EFL teacher who teaches native EFL wannabe EFL teachers....good day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So in that case you must realise that you are watching about nine minutes of what might have been a 60 - 90 minute lesson and are in no position to be so snide.

With respect, Sean, I think you should be a little less eager to criticise.... and to criticise so stridently. The teacher may not be your cup of tea, but he is clearly experienced with what appears to be a substantial track record. Perhaps you ought to be showing those older (I’m surmising) than yourself a certain amount of respect. And that respect should also be extended to the production and editorial team responsible for creating and publishing the video. We do well to remember that there are often many ways to climb a mountain... and we should be extending grace to those who do things somewhat differently from ourselves. Speaking the truth, Sean, to you with respect.

i did it better than he did. A boring class plus that leson could mislead the students since the teacher focused only jobs. there are many other situations where to be in the past can be used. i wonder where real communication was in that class.
