Welcome back! I agree with you that I might take a while to get back on the horse if you get out of your routine. Great job by you & Patrick with this hard workout. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on getting a 1RM. I was trying for a PR snatch yesterday. I was able to hit about 80%-90% of my 1RM snatch yesterday but couldn't get a PR in a 5 minute window. Great back squat technique.

Yes, some days its good to press on, but some you just have to know your body! Cant PR if you get hurt!

Just an idea... Imagine the camera is a brand new member... What assessment would you do? What would their first sessions be like? How would you program for them? So many people are nervous and intimidated to walk into an affiliate... perhaps showing what it would actually be like would help deal with those insecurities.

Love your philosophy on PRs! When I was new to CrossFit, I thought about PRs so much, but as I’ve done it more, I like my non-PR victories more. Moving a moderately heavy weight fluidly and comfortably for multiple reps, using a heavier weight in a workout than I ever had before, and moving better through a metcon were my non-PR victories from this week!
@Kristi-Eramo-OConnell4 жыл бұрын
Yes, love that attitude! Longevity is the true PR!

Always great to see your hard efforts and time in your trainings ,and experience shared on your channel. I also hope you achieve your success at the xfit games later on this year. I'd just like to make an observation. I do know from a weightlifting perspective, if you have knee issues,then you probably need that checked out,muscular,alignment etc. The set up is very important, and determines a good squat from a bad squat. Lining up the bar in a squat,across the shoulders(high bar,or low bar) over midfoot balance's the weight evenly,before you begin your squat. By breaking at the hips first instead of the knees, the weight will immediately shift forward onto the toes, lower the angle of the torso and put body in an awkward position as they descend.....especially coming up out of the bottom. Instead, breaking at the knees first and keeping the torso more upright will require the squatter to engage power from the glutes,hamstrings and quads,and less lower back when popping out of the bottom..... especially when the weight gets heavy. I've learnt alot from Max Aita training systems...thankyou

Hi! Glad you are enjoying it. While that is true, I break at the knees while pushing back into my hamstrings at the same time.

I really like what you said about how you continue to get stronger even if you aren't PRing 1-rep maxes every time you test them. We went for a heavy power clean single today and I was 15 pounds less than I was four months ago when I started crossfit, which bummed me out and made me question this type of training. Great pointers on the squat too! Keep the videos coming :)

Hey Cristi, Do you have any video on how to choose exercises to create a workout ? Thank you and keep it up !!👍🏼😍
@Kristi-Eramo-OConnell4 жыл бұрын
We do not, we go off our programming, which basically hits every exercise throughout the week, and look at what we did more or less of the last few weeks of training.

Hi there, I like your videos👍 writing about proprioception, how do you know, without seeing yourself, whether you’re hitting depth? May you and yours have a great year.
