Question...why is TPR needed when the student can clearly understand the question being asked?

Magic Ears is unprofessional level trashy. I went through the hiring process was shocked by the quality of trainer: Alex Xerath. This "trainer" immediately had a trashy and distracted demeanor. Our short time was full of eye rolling, rude behavior and extreme facial expressions of annoyance from his part. I have years of experience working with Disney and online ESL companies, never have I seen so much unprofessionalism and disrespect. Even my interview at Denny's when I was 16 years old was more professional and respectful than this.

Hi , I wanted to know why this company discriminates against teachers they consider "non-native" speakers?
@calliemendoza85633 жыл бұрын
That's not discrimination(=unjust prejudice). They want the highest quality teachers, and that would be teachers whose mother tongue is the language they are teaching.

@@calliemendoza8563 what you say makes no sense whatsoever. All the scientific research available does not support that position. Where did you get that? In fact research suggests suggest might actually improve their English less when they have untrained native speakers teaching them, which is the case in many Asian countries.

You're not the only one whose noticed this!

@@mariavaron9383 The fact that a “native speaker” does not have an “accent” doesn’t mean that students will actually acquire whichever accent they want to learn. Proficient language speakers do not need to be “native speakers “. Unfortunately ,Maria, what you say only perpetuates a marketing trap that reinforces colonialism, racism, and other stereotypes. This is why many schools end up hiring backpacker “teachers”, who no nothing about actual teaching.
