Be more excited and eccentric than you would be for an actual class, they will not care about your time management for the interview, but DO keep your language simple, and have at least two props ready! You got this!!

Aww haha you are so sweet! I honestly looked at a lot of Magic ears videos, they have posted great example videos of their demo. I was also teaching at Gogokid for 7-8 months before I applied at ME, so I had an idea as to what they were looking for! Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions and good luck! :)

I find myself in this interview because I am this type of person but I have never worked online only face to face with kids and I have afraid to apply. How did you know about the topic you were explaining? It was given previously to you and you prepared the class before the interview? I really love teaching!

A laminator will be your best friend! For props I use every class, I just laminated printed out pictures. You don’t even have to laminate your pictures, I just do that to make them last longer! For this lesson I just drew pictures in flashcards and wrote the words :) I also used plastic letter’s and I’m sure you can get them on Amazon!

Thank you so much! I had my interview Friday night and heard back from magic ears the following Monday because of the weekend. However my mentor told my usually people will hear back within a day if they do it during the week :)

So this is the official live demo interview lesson, but you will gain access to the slides and Magic ears platform once you submit your initial application!

Yes I did! I have been teaching with Magic Ears for about three weeks now and I love the company. I was offered a contract after the second step in their hiring process, so I was able to bypass the second trial class after my interview.

Hello Payton! I applied and await approval. I'm a fulltime teacher and would like to know if I would be able to work for Magic Ears on a part time basis. Also, how soon do I need to upload my demo video?

That’s great! There are no minimum hours that you have to work for the company so you can work as little or as much as you want. As far as your demo lesson goes, definitely the sooner the better! If you submitted your recording this weekend I’m sure they would get back to you by Monday or Tuesday. If you are wanting to do the live demo lesson, I would say to schedule it as soon as you can because slots fill up quickly. Good luck Theresa!! Let me know if you need anything (:

I will say for this demo interview I was extra eccentric and smiley. Magic ears loves enthusiasm and I am enthusiastic during class, but not normally at this level😂

Sign language is not required but TPR is. Total Physical Response is used to help the student remember a word by connecting it to a motion, like pretending to drink something to show the word “drink”

Good at what you are doing and you do it well but this is manic and annoying!!!!!!! everything is at one pace and level. No shade or colour! I'm exhausted just watching this! This is head fry teaching!!!!!!!!

Haha yeah it is pretty eccentric! I honestly don’t teach like this all the time. I would be exhausted teaching like this for every class, but it can’t hurt to be a little extra during the interview! Magic ears really cares about “passion” so I wanted to make sure I showed that. Also not all esl companies require this much energy!

If I did this for every class I would be exhausted too! I acted as extra “passionate” as I could for the interview because that is what Magic ears is looking for. But I would look at other esl companies because they do not focus on eccentric teaching haha
