You explained illocutionary speech very well, and your examples helped a lot. However, the video section was too fast which made them unhelpful.

Hello, thank you for your video, it's very helpful. But I have a question, how to measure each utterance and categorize it into certain kinds of speech acts? In the last video, your answers are just possible, so there will be other answers depending on who analyzes those utterances. How to apply iFids and felicity conditions to make sure that our answer is not subjective by our assumption? Thank you & have a good day!

In moana Movie, when Moana's island got some bad sign such as diseased tree and they can catch or get any fish, and the people start to think that they maybe will find the solution if they sail away from the island. However, the chief of the people says "We're save here", he intend that no one must left the island. I assume that it can be representatives (assertive) and directives. he claim that the island actually still the safest place for them, and it also an order to not leave the island. lately i start to think that it also can be declarative.... can you share your opinion on this?

some acts are possible. especially declaring statements. speech acts are quite difficult as there are many considerations to make. but knowing the basic, is enough.Promising is an act of perloctionary..(doing and sayin at the same time)
