@Noartist yep the respect and curtesy seem to have disappeared, I realize it’s not just a Canadian change but everywhere, the drug issues , violence and self entitlement has become so prevalent everywhere, I guess growing up in a very different era and culture, my grand parents were from the old country (Ukraine) I had a very different perspective, yes there were race and cultural bias but there was also a lot more respect in most cases .. folks tried to get along and fit together at least . Seems everyone’s bitching and demanding more and more rather than putting in an effort to be a part of Society as a whole . Yes there were cultural issues back in the day even my small town was divided to the Italian/ Chinese/European/ German sections but it came together as a small mining town..a community

@Noartist I understand, to a degree, the desire to not have outside influence. Japan is a perfect example of a racist, xenophobic country, that never gets called out. The difference is that our country was founded entirely by immigrants. Japan is a centuries old empire. Canada has never had a set of universal values, like Japan, or England even. It's way too diverse, way too big. Canada is a place where immigrants gambled on their future. I think we need to remember that. It's not a place with a proud heritage. What our government has done to the First Nations for 300 years is nothing short of revolting. Canada the definition of a post-nationalist, corporate nation. All that said, I'd rather live here than anywhere else in the world. But part of Canada's charm comes from the fact that its values change with the changes in immigration. Mandarin is the second most common language in downtown Toronto now. Punjabi is the most common language in Peel region(!!), the second most populated region in the country. Assuming you're not native (which, if you are, my bad) we have no place to tell other immigrant cultures how to act.

It's true, I remember when I was growing up nobody in my small town locked their doors. We even went to our neighbors house uninvited, no knocking. We lived in the middle of nowhere, so the chances of being busy were about 0%. Having company was just about the only thing to do, aside from yard/farm work. We shared a large property without fences between us, so we would see our neighbors coming across the bridge over the river that ran between our houses. They would come over to bring us left over dessert or to exchange ingredients instead of running into town. Nothing made us happier than sitting at the dinner table enjoying a meal, and seeing our favorite people coming across the bridge. It either meant they had sweets, wanted to bike to the beach, or we were having a bonfire that night. I miss that Canada. I know it's cliche but, the key is to stay away from our cities. Find a small town by a lake. Bill Burr might not come to Canada with starry eyes, but I look back on her with starry eyes. Listen to Conan and the crowd have the hardest time accepting the truth about themselves....brings the show to a screeching halt when Burr doesn’t just sit there and rehash the same liberal bullshit as everybody else on TV. That’s why i love the guy. He rips into both sides of the aisle, as he should. Both sides are morons, as Burr loves to point out

Conan isn't exactly some liberal activist. His humor doesn't breach politics that often.

Aside from all the jokes and stuff, people really don't care about anything unless it personally affects them. That's why we live in a messed up world.

The audience didn't know how to react when Burr made the comment about people being paid little money to make the clothes they wear. I thought that the lack of reaction was the most telling thing in the interview.

Belen Morales not true. The problem is that people are unaware as to the extent of their ignorance and no one wants to admit that they don't know something.

Greed is a bit worse of a problem, I'd say. But yeah sure, maybe it's due to humans caring mostly about themselves or whatever. Lol
