Conan was desperately trying to stay the hell away from the topic of religion. And when a guest comes on to a talk show, and starts calling celebrities like Tom Cruise "stupid..." That is bad for the show. Not that I care or anything. I agree. Scientology is stupid and Jon Travolta and Tom Cruise are stupid for accepting it. But that pretty much means I will never get to see Tom Cruise on Conan!

Of course you will see him again. His people are desperately trying to shelter him so that only certain questions and topics are allowed to be talked about. That’s why he never has to defend his harmful beliefs on television. He might be a good actor but he is a bad person, thinking he has superpowers through his religion. Also either he knows all the horrible things Scientology is doing (including emotional, physical and sexul abuse, slave labour, destroying families and lifes,...) and supports them or he is being blackmailed. It’s impossible that he doesn’t know whild being friends with the Head of Scientology.

I am so tired of people like Bill saying that religion is pointless and stupid. I am a democrat and I completely support gay marriage, but I am also an Episcopalian. For my personal worship, Christianity is not about believing in some magical fairy in the sky, it's about the values of respect, kindness, and love which we show to others around us. I'm not saying that everyone should have a religion or anything of that sort, I'd just appreciate a little more consideration of the views of others. Why does everyone have to stereotype religious people to be non-supportive of gay marriage or liberal/moderate values?

Just read a book called 100 Years Of Nobel Prizes. In this well written book by a highly educated man, among many other topics, he discussed how 62 percent of all Nobel Prize winners in the sciences, during the 20th century, were Christian . Thank God Bill Maher is here to straighten them out.

I'm not sure if people realize this, but as an ex mormon they don't actually believe in polygamy anymore. That was quite a long time ago (like a hundred years for the main stream religion.) I think they are still pretty damn crazy, just like people of every religion, but we don't need to lie about what they are now to see that.

Yeah, but what Maher was saying was Romney's "grandfather" (it was probably more like great-grandfather, I guess) was a polygamist. And it's a good point that for the definition of marriage to change that much, it seems strange to say another definition of marriage should be illegal.
