Sometimes comedians, writers; artists, actors, etc., come from difficult childhoods. My theory is they inherited a ‘lucky gene’ which gave them strength and wisdom to become something special. Lucille Ball is a perfect example

I think we may be the only two that know this. Here’s another. As Markie Mark was emerging in notoriety, so was his taste in criminal activities. He was “on the dark side” of celebrity, at the dawning of his success. To avoid a life behind bars, Markie Mark needed to somehow package whatever decency he had in him and rename it. Mark Wahlberg was this construct, and the rest is history. You can read all about this in the as yet unwritten piece tentatively titled: “ARE YA THERE, DAWG? ITS ME, MARKIE MARK”

"What if we tell stories and they're medicinal" - Nick. We need comedy as our antidepressant now more than ever. Thank you for helping our broken hearts heal through comedy. I am navigating 2016 PTSD and have clinical depression. Comedy is at the top of my list of my self-care practice. The most organic mental health elixir is laughter. Thanks to all who create comedy. Even if through tears at times, we will keep laughing.
