I think the thing I love the most about Bill is that he's transparently and consistently trying to face himself; he doesn't hide behind excuses or deny responsibility for any action or thought he has. Whether it's impressive or horrific, Bill is constantly admitting and playing around with his own nature, every rush of aggression from inconsiderate Target customers and every profound personal insight on his loneliness as a child. He knows understanding all that and expressing it is hard, but it's also the source of all good relatable comedy: knowing and expressing who you are as clearly and without restraint as possible. He's just honest with himself and with us, every single interview. And Conan is the perfect host to combine with this, because more than anyone else he really allows his interviewee to express themselves
