Took him awhile to get there though. His interviews in first few years were awful, constantly talking over guests. Thankfully he got better at it, and his segments with Burr, Norm and some others are among the best in late night history.

"No one's happy when you're talking" is one of the most brutal lines and delivery I've ever heard from Conan. And it's perfect that it's with Burr because he's one of the few that would appreciate it, laugh at it, and expand on it like he did. I love when these two are together.

I think the thing I love the most about Bill is that he's transparently and consistently trying to face himself; he doesn't hide behind excuses or deny responsibility for any action or thought he has. Whether it's impressive or horrific, Bill is constantly admitting and playing around with his own nature, every rush of aggression from inconsiderate Target customers and every profound personal insight on his loneliness as a child. He knows understanding all that and expressing it is hard, but it's also the source of all good relatable comedy: knowing and expressing who you are as clearly and without restraint as possible. He's just honest with himself and with us, every single interview. And Conan is the perfect host to combine with this, because more than anyone else he really allows his interviewee to express themselves

My favorite part of all Bill Burr interviews is when he knows he just said something that will make most people on TV uncomfortable and he just doubles/triples down on the subject

Bill Burr is the only guy who could say he wants random murder and death and still have a great like to dislike ratio. Absolute legend.

That's not necessarily true. Richard Ramirez was all for murder, and admitted it often.

I think the reason Bill Burr is my favorite comedian is because he remains faithful his style of material while also growing. He works on his anger but still knows how to channel that side of himself when it's funny. He always feels fresh because he's constantly progressing as a person and the audience gets to see some of that. Love all his work, wish him the best.

Hearing Bill talk about trying mushrooms and finding his peace with his past just makes me proud of him for allowing himself to grow. . Anecdotal evidence for exactly why they should be studied for mental health. They break down the walls we build in our psyches and allow healing to begin. Bravo!
