You know, the humility that El DeBarge has is astounding. He fully admits to his drug use, prison stint and doesn't point his finger to anyone in blame. I can truly respect the ownership about his whole situation. GOD is working so many things out in him. And it's wonderful to see The LORD at work in his life.

El is one beautiful man. The whole family is gorgeous. I watched the unsung video of the Debarges I cried. The first time "All this love" I wanted to know who wrote it. When I discovered El wrote it with his sister & brother I was amazed at him being so talented. I could hear in his voice he had pain in heart so I did my research on where he came from. I know he is before my time but He is one of the most beautiful men ever. mm mm mm. I pray for him & hope he over comes the addiction. #Greatest

I love these guys. Everytime I have saw El and spoke to him, he has treated me nothing less than respectful, gentle, nice and sweet. He is a real sweetheart. He's been my favorite singer for going on thirty years now and counting. The one time I met Chico, he seemed so nice. His smile is bright and I can tell, he looks out for his big brother El. I'm personal friends with some of the other members in the family, spoke with a few too. I will always keep this family in my prayers.

There is nothing wrong with staying with people who love and support you no matter how old you are. Being in recovery takes alot of support that he cant get from his own family because they are still struggling. He doesn't need to be around them all it'll do is cause temptation. I dont fault him at all he's trying to do better and he is if it'll keep him clean i say stay there forever.

I talked to El once on the phone. His little cousins knew a friend of mine & gave out their mom's number when El was in town. I called & they called him to the phone. He sounds exactly like how you hear him & asked how I got the number. He thanked me for the love and support & said he knew the phone was going to continue to ring since mine was the first call, but he was very sweet.

This family has a huge cult following even to this day! We're all pulling for you. Addiction is only a symptom of a deeper problem...a dangerous, ineffective coping mechanism that often makes things MUCH worse. Quitting drugs will never last if you don't replace the drugs with healthy coping tools & work through the issues that lead you to drugs in the first place. Therapy w/ a professional is the only way.

I can identify with this family! No matter how bad life may get, I and my dozen of siblings have be taught how to cry out to God for help!!!♡ We also were raised in the Pentecostal church as PK! We don't get too far away from our foundation and what we've been taught. I'm so proud of El Debarge come back after the struggles!♡ KEEP GOD IN EVERYTHING YOU DO!!!

I knew a family growing up in the same area as the DeBarge family & went to school with them & they were mixed too and all the kids had a tough time with their ethnic bacground too. I'm glad the world is now much more accepting. We see them as beautiful, but they didn't see themselves that way & felt like outsiders.

Mr. Debarge, I'm so glad that you have been given a second chance on whatever God gave it to you for. Be careful in that entertainment arena. You already know what it is. Keep growing and developing your relationship with God and do it God's way. Read that Bible all of that is included in developing your relationship with God. The entertainment world IS NOT the only reason as to why God brought you out of that life. You are MORE than that. You will find out keeping up a healthy relationship with God. Its sad that all of the brothers & their sister had an addiction except El until he had enough to being the strong one (his words) & everyone leaning on him while blaming him for being the face of the group, the songwriter & the one getting all the attention. He said he tried it just because he could, because he was tired of being the good one. They are mixed (black mother/white father) & had a hard time being "teased" because of it growing up. They didn't feel they fit in.
