@Rusiputki5 жыл бұрын
Made me laugh but I think I understood what he means, there is no custom work done to the car like welding your own inlet manifold or adapting individual throttle bodies, throttle cables, injectors etc. I think he is saying the parts they use are off the shelf just like the typical coilover, you buy, you bolt, no crazy modding or one off parts. He is kinda right, if they contacted UK CatCams offer for almost any vehicle under the sun and you just pay your monies and bolt it on.
@karhaa5 жыл бұрын
Those mods are not really that crazy... Intake, $150. Motor mounts $300, Cams $600, head port $300, Pistons $1500... ECU $1000.. All of those mods are pretty affordable.. People saying 50k upgrade.. You're crazy. The car is barely 10k brand new with maybe, maybe 4k in engine mods... People spend more on wheels and tires than what is done, concerning HP and TQ gains on this car

i think it is set highspeed compression (if you have it) set lowspeed compression (if you have it) and the most important part is to set the rebound as fast as you can before they start to act like pogo sticks. also set the springs for what you need, springs that get stiffer the more travel you use.

I’d love a parts list for the Fiesta. I haven’t raced anything in a long time but rallycross looks like loads of fun. Have been thinking about a Fiesta ST but really taking a base car and beefing it up would be more fun and likely more competitive. And if I decide to go further it wouldn’t be wasted- cage it and run it at that point.

from R3 to WRC cars all brake discs we mount are all slotted, of course not drilled (Not only because of dirt getting into the holes but also because drilled rotors are overall way fragile) but slotted rotors are pretty common (Even on gravel)...only N groups (AT least here in italy) mount normal vented rotors but N group are pretty much street cars with safety equip, some small things (Like engine mounts) and better suspensions with very little work on engine, so they don't really need that much braking
@ostfahrstreifen84217 жыл бұрын
i heard ("directly" from some guy from an brakes-company in a video) that both slotted and drilled rotors just do clean your brake pads, but drilled is worse than slotted because they are "randomly" located and so they doesn't have a good cleaning effect. And for rally of course the thing with the stones apply, i guess

get several yards of t shirt material from the fabric store, a hot glue gun a couple dozen sticks of the black high temp glue sticks for glue gun and a couple gallons of fiberglass resin. make a simple frame out of wood or plastic rods around the part of the fender you wish to extend, coat the top of fender with hot glue then stick the t shirt material over it. then stretch the material over the frame that youve made around the fender, glue it in place. then coat the material liberally with resin and allow to cure. lightly sand the surface and apply another layer of resin and then some fiberglass mat- tjust one thin layer will be fine. once that cures shoot a layer of catalyzed sprayable body filler on it, sand till it looks acceptable to you. you now have a fiberglass or even a carbon fiber mold that you can make as many fenders as you want from. all these race shops where they are making all these one piece front ends and custom body panels for the race cars are doing it almost exactly like im describing above. make a prototype part that looks how you want it then take a mold off that part and you're set to make as many as you like.

@Teamoneilrally5 жыл бұрын
Strut bars are good to help keep the unibody from flexing... Take a look at a car that's been raced or rallied for a while and you'll see stress cracks around the strut towers, separation at the spot-welded seams, we used to see cracks at the base of the A-pillars... A strut bar isn't as good as a roll cage tied into the suspension mounting points, but it's a lot better than nothing.

Can't help but notice that's not a standard Fiesta upright. Ford insists on using those weird clamp connections to keep the shock attached to the knuckle, this uses the classic two-bolt connection. Plus correct me if I am wrong, but the Fiesta features 4-lug wheels, but this one has 5 lugs. If I were a betting boy I'd guess these are uprights from a Mazda CX7.
