Mario being a spin-off of Donkey Kong & creating further spin-offs probably puts the actual number even higher...between mainline Super Mario, classic DK, DKC, Mario Kart, Mario Paint, Luigi's Mansion, Mario RPG, Mario & Luigi, Princess Peach, Wario Land, Wario World, Yoshi's Island, Mario sports series, Mario & Sonic Olympics games, Mario Vs DK, Paper Mario, Wrecking Crew, Mario Party, Dr Mario & many 1-off spin-offs it's insane to think about

I find it funny that y'all forgot the Super Robot Wars franchise, with its 73 (!) games for several different platforms (from the GB to the most recent consoles), but I think that you got better known franchises, since SRW only have 4 official Western releases (and 7 official Emglish translations... which is a little less than 10% of the games of the entire franchise 😅).

While i wouldnt say re6 is the best one, its definitely a lot better than people say it is. It definitely has the best mercenaries mode.

I refuse to believe Resident Evil has more games than Dragon Quest. There must be some inconsistency with how these were counted, DQ has sub-series within spin-off series for fucks sake. One of its spin-offs spawned an entire separate franchise (which shouldn’t be counted, but still).

Does the word "Mario" appearing in the title really make something a Mario game? Mario Paint for the SNES can't possibly qualify, can it? He only appeared in a single coloring page and as a note in the music-composing... thing, whatever it's called. He wasn't really a character in the game, just an icon, like the silhouette of Mickey Mouse that Disney puts on things. It's like saying George Washington starred in a movie because there's a scene where a character pays for something by using a dollar bill. If that counts as a "Mario game," then Sonic needs two more added to his total for the pair of "Sonic Blast Man" games Capcom released in the '90s.
