If you are seeing Bjergsen as an EU player still you need to get yourself checked. He has played for NA 3X as much (if not more) than he has for EU.
@maurice69084 жыл бұрын
Its kinda weird when people say that Bjerg is a NA player or that NA/TSM developed Bjerg. He was already playing pro for 2 seasons in EU. Everyone already knew that the guy is good cause he already went even with xPeke, AlexIch and Froggen in lane. All of them were established worlds caliber mids, maybe even best mids worldwide (time before faker). So to say that NA developed Bjerg is a long stretch considering he already performed at peak lvl in EU. Also players did not rely on coaches back then, coaches were just there for team coordination. Please also consider that TSM was never able to develop Bjergsen further. I think Bjergsen teached the game to himself for the most part. Bjergs play also stagnated after he got to NA, sure he smurfed early on but thats just because he trained with way better EU mids like Froggen, AlexIch and xPeke in EU and after getting to NA the mid competition was just a lot worse. Just look at Bjerg at international events, its not like TSM helped him. Especially after they baited him into renewing his contract time and time again even though it was obvious that TSM is holding him back. There is no doubt in my mind that he could have had several deep runs at worlds, maybe even be a world champ, had he stayed in EU. Also consider that we are not talking about a good NA org who already developed talent like C9 in the past, TSM just buys talent that already performs and hopes for the best and meanwhile their coaching stuff is wasting and surpressing the talented roster, it happened way to often already that players who leave the org suddenly perform again. Also Bjerg playstyle changed in NA, it became more passive. Nowadays Bjerg is only proactive in the sense of good roam timings but he does not play for kill pressure in lane anymore. Just look at his picks in playoffs/worlds Zilean and Galio. He became a mediorcre support player. I just miss the old Bjergsen high tempo, kill pressure playstyle. But on TSM he did not have a coach who could tell him what to do and had enough knowledge, in NA he did not even have the competetition to properly define his playstyle. Sure there was Hai and later on Jensen both from C9 and about even in skill with Bjerg but not better (only regional ofc). Bjerg staying on TSM just made me sad, so much talent but its not used whatsoever. I would just hope that people who say that NA/TSM developed Bjerg actually think about what they are saying. Sure he played in NA for a long time but thats about it, why do people think that TSM did any meaningful development? TSM does not even have the proper coaching stuff and NA does not have the mid competition to begin with. More often than not people just overrate Bjerg for what he could have done in a proper team and ignore the 'coaching' he got from Regi/Parth

10:50 this is basically every NA team that won a domestic title EVER except C9 with Hai...the strategy is basically, have default winning lanes, do nothing for the next 15 minutes after lane phase, and then when the game hits that moment of whoever wins the teamfight wins all objectives they slightly out-mechanic you, sometimes they don't but instead the very slight gold lead and 0.5 items (qss for example) makes the big difference
@MichellyMe4 жыл бұрын
When the gap between one player and their teammates is too big, they can actually become a detriment to the team rather than an addition because theyre on such different pages. When I hear about how much bjerg actually thinks about the game, knowing how much gold he an his opponent will have at each wave and managing the wave based on enemy position and sidelane states to forcing opponents into a bad recall based on item gold costs etc. I honestly feel like hes just on such a different level than his NA teammates (I think huni has a similar problem as bjerg) who consistently forget to even buy items after recalling that it makes everyone not know what the fuck to do. Bjerg cant understand his teammates and his teammates cant understand him. I think thats why he's stepping down to focus on elevating his teammates while downgrading mid so everyone can be on more of the same page.

Dear Søren Bjerg, I am citing my 2-week-old comment from LinkedIn on the TSM Bjergsen announcement: “Upgrade. I am not sure about his people skills and management skills. He is a great player-coach for sure, but you have to build a support team around him. You should also work on your Team Culture.” I wanna be honest with you, from what I have seen from videos (TSM Legends) so far, TSM has a very negative to toxic team culture and you were part of it or did not change it as a player. How the players behave is not professional and leads to burnouts, distrusting towards teammates, and falling back into bad habits in times of stress. I have been teaching and mentoring kids, students, and adults all my life. I would like to continue to help other people to achieve their potential, also you as a Head Coach. I am an expert in people management and improvement. My career philosophy is based on the poem by Charles Bukowski “No Leaders Please”. There is no work that I cannot familiarize myself with. My above-average dedication knows no limits and I am sure we are the same in this way. Let’s talk about Zoom or Skype and find out if we see a similar future for TSM. Yours sincerely Karsten

Thanks for making this! I have been thinking a lot of these things as a TSM fan, and think the problems that Bjergsen has created over the past several years will be amplified with him in the coaching role and the team will no longer have the plan B of having Bjergsen to carry the team out of shit situations. A couple things I disagree with: I do not think Bjergsen is as passive aggressive as you present. I think that narrative is based around Season 6 or Season 7 when we were given more insight into the team communication after games / slumps and he has since worked hard to correct some of those communication problems. Also, if you have an issue with a superior and it does not get resolved, it is common practice to go above their head to try and seek resolution. Saying you would just leave is a pretty negative mindset to have, especially if you care about the organization you are in. Just my 2 cents, great video!

@xander09014 жыл бұрын
As a general rule, it's not a great idea for a player to become the head coach of their former teammates. Not accounting for TSM's general culture of subverting the Head Coach, it's pretty hard for players to suddenly shift their relationship with a teammate to that of a head coach, even if that former teammate was the captain. And using Stephen A's favorite viewpoint when looking at head coaching hires, how many other analysts and/or assistants are there that are way more deserving of a head coaching opportunity based on their resume? It's fine for Bjergsen to have coaching aspirations, but he really shouldn't start as a head coach and he really shouldn't stay with TSM (also accounting for obvious conflict of interest). If TSM really wanted to keep him, I would say start him as a strategic coach and bump him off the ownership. Also, shoutouts to your Ridge Wallet sponsorship. I've had mine for over a year and it's a fantastic product.

Not a TSM fan but I think writing him off before even the first game is a *bit* too soon imho

wtf are you on about Bjergsen was one of the best mids in the world at some points
@elvis41394 жыл бұрын
Just to add to this. Dude was able to solo kill even korean mids for what it's worth. www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/dglpex/bjergsen_has_gotten_a_solo_kill_at_nearly_every/

"The problems was never with his individual play" people seem to not read that part of this statement. the statement was that bjerg was mechanically skilled but behind the world stage on macro which outside of his time on zed is actually kinda true.

Nothing like a bunch of bronze players in the comments trying to throw advice around or act like their game knowledge has any backing. 🤷🏼♂️

The saddest angle in the Conflict of Interest is that Bjergsen has to take into account the fact that there are players with streams that are inherently more valuable to him as an owner but can negatively impact the courses of action as a team.

since you're into the NBA heavily, I would love to hear future takes on Lamelo Ball.

"I've never been offended by something so true." I want to be excited about him being coach but I worry he will try to have too much of an influence on the style. I've been begging TSM to play an uptempo style and they NEVER did. He has a potentially solid lineup, he just needs to make sure they are all happy, communicating, and on the same page. Other than that, just stay out of the way.

Man this definitely aged well since Bjerg is currently sucking. Who knows he might improve soon but this is TSM, the only thing they imporved so far is they can speedrun lose at an efficient rate.
