I've been sent so many pictures of this car wrapped around a tree that I've just been burning with curiosity. In today's video we find out - just how bad is it? I also do the typical LZ thing where what could've been a simple project escalates right before your very eyes. Nonetheless - I'm pumped for this thing! LZMFG.com

I purchased suspension components for my g35 this past weekend. There’s heaps of different kinds, b-knuckle, reverse, milk tea etc etc… it would be cool but knuckle mods should definitely be left to someone who is competent with a welder and can make them work safely and properly.

Yeah I honestly really like his Pro 2 kit, but his Yashio Factory kit is also really sweet. I think he should make this S15 (wrap included) look like his FD S15 in pro 2. But for branding purposes, going with the Drift HQ green is better for branding reasons

Is there a top mount manifold that fits the internally gated t2 flanged turbo? Also wouldn’t an aftermarket manifold with stock turbo flow too much?

@@kevinfunk83 Dont know anything about flowing to much. Ill be welding on a T25 flange onto my cheap top mount manifold and running a S14 T28 on my SR, so we will see if it blows up. I met a guy thats running 500 whp in a KA with a top mount internal wastegated 2871, so id imagine its possible

You should still keep those fenders/skirts, It'd be cool to just mix&match another set of bumpers. Those Fenders are so unique I literally dont think I've ever seen that kit on a stateside car.

Good choice on painting the engine bay . Also , straighten the frame , put it on a rack , just to be sure the frame isn't part of the rattles , it took a big hit .

If it was me I'd cut those stock rails out and weld in some nice rectangle tubing in their place. But throw it on a frame rack first and get it as close to straight/square as possible.

I know you were talking about just doing a super simple setup for suspension, but you might consider partnering with FDF since DriftHQ is the US distributer (and you're making it your DriftHQ demo car) and put their stuff on it. I'd also just love to hear what you think of their stuff. The dudes over there seem really knowledgeable.

If you're going through the trouble of painting the bay and cleaning it up you gotta do a top mount for the style points.

I'd say try to fix the frame rails and rear fenders. Obviously not perfect but just alittle better

fixing the frame would be pretty easy. Chop out the bad section and cut out some square stock to fit.

​@@kasuraga I don't even know what all the issue was made about damage on this car. That little bit on the underside is like a 2h job. Drill out the spot welds to get it off the car, hammer it back into shape having access to all sides, weld it back on. Spend more time in cleaning, seam sealing and spraying in cavity way to prevent rust than actual metal work. The section may be available new from nissan still as well. Could weld tabs on it to pull one side with a slide hammer and hammer on the other also if its just a chopped up drift car like it is. The stupid people in this cars past and other things they have done are a far bigger issue than any frame damage.

@@celiturbo Yeah, that's what I mean about it being such a simple fix. Even if you can't get an OEM frame rail, a simple piece of square stock could be cut apart to replace it. Would be stronger too.

Much better if he did it similar to the FD S15, he'd have more experience in the same car with a similar setup that way when he's in FD it'll all pay off real nice. Plus he has another yellow S15, I'm not rlly sure, but I think he might make that other S15 the SR build

for the minor surface rust i highly recommend Rustoleum rust reformer, just spray it onto light rust and it turns it into a phosphors surface that you can leave or paint over

I have a good hunch I know where your noise might be coming from. When they changed the lower control arm mounting point on the front I think it screwed your suspension geometry to where it’s binding. If they didn’t adjust the other suspension mounting points to match the proper alignment then it will have issues with binding. It was hard to tell without physical seeing it in person.

I think stock simpleness is a theme with that car, so that would work for the turbo setup in my opinion. Plus you can compare the sound and see which way you like it better. You and I like different engine notes but I know you're just as much of a nerd about how it sounds as I am.

If you want the cheat code for T2 turbo gasket, get Inconel studs from Flyin’ Miata and Stage8 mechanical lock nuts. New s15 gasket and never have problems. Almost every blown gasket is from low quality studs being used that stretch when heat cycled and makes it seem like the nuts came loose when it’s actually the stud.

Taking the motor out of an s- chasis is easy... we used to do full rb 20/25 swaps in 3 to 4 hrs... rear, axles, intercooler, 1 pc drive shaft, all wiring, fuel pump... everything all pretty in 5 hrs. Made our own custom mounts for engine and trans. I miss those days

As long as the damaged frame rail section isn’t rusted out and isn’t effecting the way the car drives I’d say just leave it as is cause there’s no point opening yourself up to potentially more problems by messing with it. Other than that the car doesn’t look like it’s in that bad of condition and will be a decent car once you address the subframe issues and the little things that need to be fixed here and there.

Is gonna cage the car because S chassis are known to crumple easy. Also debating on fixing a crunched frame rail that provides structural support to the cabin of the car. You don't even need to fix it well pull it straight and add a couple plates for support and it'll be fine.

The kit on s15 would work if you just throw the vertex front bumper or the yashiyo front bumper and vertex rear also try the reverse green knuckles they recently came out with their v3 knuckle I think retains alot of the oem parts
