Just saying, this video is really well made. Right from the beginning I figured youtube just recommended me a pretty well known KZbinr but then I realized the video only had 250 views. Anyways, good video!

Are you sure that LInk was holding the master sword while he was attacked by malice in the second trailer? Link is left handed and the malice attacks his right hand. But it does look like the master sword in that image... I never noticed that before. (EDIT - I stand corrected. BOTW Link is right handed...) I can't help but to wonder if Link attempts to stab Gannon and finish him when this happens to the sword and to his hand.

Maybe the girl who looks like Zelda is supposed to be Hylia, and the other figure is a different deity altogether

Maybe the statue is the goddess Hylia, and maybe the "Zelda" Falling is the goddess shedding off her mortal coil, "Zelda" and the true goddess herself is going to finally come back to rule in her true form. And maybe The Tears of the Kingdom, is the fact that Zelda has to be sacrificed for the goddess to rise 🤷‍♂️

My theory is that the carvings tell of a past history. They tell the story of the Gannon figure that is sealed underground. I think the creature with the mask is the Gannon figure. Like Gannondorf in OOT, he wasn't always known to be bad. I think he likely had some union with a past Zelda. There was some kind of betrayal or tragedy resulting in her death. If it was betrayal, He was evil. If it was a tragedy, perhaps his response to it made him evil. He is later shown by himself. I would imagine he had some sort of rule over the earth... as shown in the carving by himself. I think the glowing energy hand is a past incarnation of Link. However, the past story essentially ended in failure... or a stalemate at best. Think about it... Gannon is not defeated... but merely sealed. What happened to the Zelda figure? Remember the carving with her appearing to fall? To the right, there is a figure... I think it is the other creature without the armor (in his robe). Like I said, either a betrayal or a tragedy. The link character did not defeat Gannon... but rather sealed off with his special hand/arm tool. I would say that he somehow gave his life force to do so and the green hand is all that is left of him. So... that is all the past... I think that this story essentially resumes or concludes this long forgotten past history. The past Zelda died and had been reincarnated. The past Link gave his life and was reincarnated shortly before the hand would completely lose its power. Somehow, Zelda and Link investigate the source of the erupting malice and find the ancient Gannon, who was the only one to survive the past history. Somehow, instead of defeating him, he is reactivated. This new Link and New Zelda must defeat him. I also think there is a possibility that time travel is involved... The appearance of the Sky Islands requires an explanation. Given the fact that this story seems to center around finishing some unfinished business, it would seem that the sky Islands may somehow be from the past as well. Perhaps, they were raised high up off the earth and with the weakening of the seal are now beginning to come down... Or perhaps, they are somehow being risen up from the earth throughout the game through some kind of technology.
