I got my GT650 continental when they first came out and have put several thousand miles on it, loving every minute. Last week I put on the Stinger 2 into 1 and a DNA air filter/inlet. The difference in the bike was instant and it now has so much more usable mid-range and gets up to the ton without any effort. The other big difference is at low speed, where the bike is more versatile due to being much lighter. Another unexpected bonus is it takes up less space in my garage. I now love my bike even more and keep finding excuses to nip out. I owned over 70 British, Italian and Japanese bikes over the past 40 years and I think this is now my favourite.

Fitted this to my RE 650 GT. All he says is true, I cannot believe the difference just moving the bike in the garage, the ease now of putting it on the centre stand. Overtaking is now a breeze as the mid range is much improved. I have left the baffle in as I don't want the bike too loud, I haven't it tried without the baffle, I will give it a go just to see what is like but I am happy with it in. Money well spent.

I agree. A big part of the fun for me is modifying and improving my bike. TEC seems to be spot on in terms of addressing areas that call out for improvement, and they are very well thought out, and well tested before going into production. Also, the quality is great as is George's no-hassle policy if there are any problems. The RE 650 outfitted with TEC parts is such a big improvement compared to the stock bike for a very reasonable cost. I'm in Vancouver BC, Canada and we get a lot of rain here, so I might go with an adventure type bike with better weather protection, but haven't entirely made up my mind. Spring has sprung, so I'd better make my decision sooner rather than later. If I decide on the RE, I'll have to make another choice bc I like the red/black and the white/orange equally. Cheers!

I installed my system yestertday and have to tell you I'm very pleased with the installation and the performance on the bike. The weight of the OEM is like having a permanent pillion passenger, and with the 2-1 the bike is so much lighter. Midrange is further enhanced ( DNA Filter fitted some time ago) and fuel compsumtion seems improved also.A great system at a very competative price. Well done.

These are the tools I used to remove the original exhaust system and install the Stinger 2 into 1 system plus 6 hole baffle on my RE 650 GT. Motorcycle jack (no centre stand on the GT). Circlip Pliers (to fit the circlip that holds the 6 hole baffle in the distal end of the new exhaust system). 14mm Flare nut spanner (fits O2 sensors). Not strictly necessary but it makes life so much easier. Wire cutters to cut cable ties (I unplugged the O2 sensors, a slower approach but less stressful I thought). 15mm socket with 10" extension and T-bar, all 1/2" drive (fits new centre mounting shouldered bolt). 12mm socket, 10" extension and T- bar, all 1/2" drive (fits original rear can mounting bolt, original centre mounting bolt and the flange nuts at the cylinder head). 12mm combination spanner (fits rearmost mounting nut). 10mm 1/4" drive socket and ratchet (fits clamp on first join of LH exhaust of new system). 5mm Allen key (fits the M8 screw that mounts the proximal end of the new rear can and the distal end with the kit supplied 35mm M8 socket head screw). One shoe lace to facilitate the fitment of springs. In addition some cable ties to keep the clutch cable away from direct contact with the hot LH exhaust pipe.

Nice exhaust! I’m not sure if this has been mentioned in the previous comments but another thing to recommend is to make sure that the exhaust pipes right after installing are thoroughly cleaned preferably with an alcohol wipe to rid the pipes of any hand\ finger oil’s that may have been left on the metal and can stain the finish once heated if not removed first. 😀👍

OK, so I ordered and recieved this exhaust, was easy to fit and my gosh how much lighter it is than the original and you definately notice when riding! The sound is perfect for my taste, the baffle is in and its loud enough without being obnoxious, I really love it. The fitted baffle hole does make the tail pipe exit look too small for the bike. My only dislike/problem is the fitted baffle itself, since running with it for a few days now, the baffle rattles on idle (held in place with a circlip not bolt) and there is about 1/2mm to 1mm of play and no way of stopping other than having to go and buy some high temp silicone and stick the rear of the baffle to the silencer. Other than that it's a great exhaust and I am extremely happy with the overall package, I wanted the cannons but this weight saving won me over, plus the cannons are too long in my opinion. My only problem

Fast delivery from tecbikepartsusa and just installed the Stinger system along with the booster plug and DNA filter/intake. I've also shed 6-7 lbs by switching to a lithium (Shorai LFX21A6-BS12) battery. After tightening everything up and wiping down pipes, it started right up and I let it idle for the advised 15 minutes before riding. In short, these were great mods and it is a different bike. The sound could almost pass for a stock motorcycle at idle but puts out a fantastic growl when you open it up. Which you'll want to do again and again. Perfect to my mind both on and off throttle. Still not a Super Duke but more responsive and rev happy. As expected, better handling and I could swear it feels more stable above 60 with my stock suspension. Braking is better and now (almost) adequate. As for install, I feel like beveling the edge of the LH flange where it fits into the graphite in the LH crosspipe was time well spent, and perhaps I should have done the same with the head pipe/crossover junction prior to installing on the bike. Mine was a very tight fit and took some time to get right in spite of using copper grease. More difficult than video for sure. Now I just have to figure out what to do about the unsightly centerstand on the left side.

just placed my order, excellent and well engineered, I have been designing exhaust for my bikes for years, the science is perfect on this one. One bit of info George didn't get into, is that by using a perf tube in the mid pipe it will actually increase exhaust velocity over a smooth pipe at higher RPMs due there being less surface area (subtract the holes), at low RPMs the absorption holes function to lower the DB.

I've only just tonight found your channel. It came about because I was looking for reviews for the RE as my wife likes the look of them. She's currently riding one of my vintage Hondas but would like a bike of her own. Here's where the story gets interesting. Today we both rode an RE, my wife to see if she liked it and me out of curiosity. On the way home we stopped off at the Triumph dealership for a looksy and I talked myself into a ride on the Speed Twin. Now, I'm a Honda guy to the bone. I currently have 8 Hondas, have owned 35+, and have ridden hundreds whilst working for Honda, but I think there's a RE and a Triumph coming home to my garage in the immediate future. I've just finished fitting this exhaust. Easier than I thought but a couple of sticky bits to be aware of: 1- an instruction sheet with a diagram in it would be great. Everything is fairly easy to work out but it would give more confidence to know the bolts, clamps, gaskets (especially the graphite one) are all utilised in the correct way in the right place. 2- put it together before fitting. This allows you to understand how it'll all fit. The right hand down pipe into the centre section was V tight on mine and even with a bit of lube it took quite a bit of brute strength to slot them together. 3- putting the springs on fine, but it will ping off first time so take the advice on the video and stick some glasses on. My centre section didn't have a spring fixing for the end can. No seriously I liked and it's just not there. Fitted it without and it seems ok..... Tell me if you think this is bad. TEC will this be ok? 4- started it up and looked for leaks. There is some light "smoke" that comes off the pipe. I thought oh no it's leaking but give it 5 mins and it all burns off. If you still see smoke you might have a leak... Also the grease I put around the joints took a few minutes to burn off, so give it a good few minutes before you panic. Sounds marvelous. I didn't put the baffle in as I left my circlip pliers in the garage but it crackles wonderfully. Looks really great too. The left side of the bike now looks a bit bare, I might have to take the centre stand of too as without the silencer there to guide it it does stick out a bit and imho looks a bit of. Still more weight saving. DNA filter next

@studioscale4 жыл бұрын
Hello, the 53hp you stated in the video, is that at the wheel? Because from 43 at the wheel to 53 at the wheel by just changing air filter and adding the 2-1 headers is a lot of gain. Even if we assume 2hp gains because of the free flow air filter, which is unlikely, that leaves a gain of 8hp just because of the exhaust swap. Unless I missed something.
@georgemilburn62134 жыл бұрын
You can get up to 49 bhp just by changing the silencers, but any extra gain is limited due to the small bore front pipes with cats restricting any more power, this exhaust addresses that power restriction in the front pipes.

Many believe the 650 Twin was built to be a 750cc, but there are no facts to back that up. You mentioned if you installed the 865 Big Bore kit the brakes would need to be upgraded and Suspension, yet the 865 Triumph has the same brakes or worse, same garbage suspension, and weighs 60-70lbs. heavier depending on accessories. Not to mention the 650 Twin has a 270 Degree crank, which can aid with Engine Braking, if one knows how to properly ride. Most 650 Twin owners will upgrade the suspension straight away so that should not be an issue. I would love to see you do an S&S 865 Kit and post the DYNO numbers, because S&S wont do it. The old says goes, " no dyno numbers mean bad dyno numbers". Keep up the great work, you're Making Enfield Great Again!

Hi This bike was designed to be a 900cc class bike , or should I say a multi cc class bike. RE already have type approval for the 900 version of this bike. But why would they do that at the moment when they are working flat out to keep up with demand for the 650.They will keep the 900 till sales of the 650 drop off. I would expect to see an adventure style 650/900 as well as a cruiser version in a couple of years . Also outside of India the dealer network for RE is still not up to speed as most dealers are small independents and in secondary retail positions. It will take a while till they could cope with the numbers the Big makers turn over in Europe and the states. But I am sure they are working to a plan. All bike companies have to have a multi level ,modular approach to a new design of motor just look at the MT Yamaha range and all the spin offs of Tracer, XSR,super tennere Etc et. And Triumph WC bonneville range of 900 and 1200 bikes that are all based on same motor design. At last count Bonneville had about 10 model sub classes with variants of each type, some a success and some not with countless variants still available if the market moves in that direction for example a 900 cruiser . This is the only way they can make money in a very tight market these days.

As arguments go _"The Triumph has really crap brakes and suspension so there's no problem with the RE having really crap brakes and suspension"_ is not the best I've heard.

Soar UK The video says Dyno results but the comments are removed. Another case of mystery dyno numbers. I don’t know why people won’t post these.
