Did the mod this morning on my 2016 Silverado 1500 with 3" level using bilstein adjustable ride shocks on the front with 295/70r18 trail grapplers. Very very minimal rub now with full stop. Prior to this, couldn't get a full turn before rubbing. Thanks for the video!

Done. I followed your instructions and gained 1"-1.50" of clearance. You can't tell anything has been modified. The trim piece covers the bottom perfectly. This project was totally rad. Got a chance to clean up old weight sticker residue and also weigh my new wheels. They're 79lbs each. My old wheel setup was 103lbs each...I definitely notice the difference. The truck feels quicker off the line and braking distance is noticeably better.

Great video man I think it's the only one that explains in detail and shows what exactly to do. But I got 2 questions how much of the pinch weld did you measure to cut off and how was the front of the fender behind the bumper? Cuz I'm about to do this myself probably in amonth or sooner.

Didn’t want to cut up my truck, I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado on a 8” bds with 2” level spacer on bottom for 10” lift total. 22x12 wheels and 37x13.50 tires. Gonna be getting 24x14 wheels soon so I’m going down to a 35” tire for full clearance.

There's a possible build up. You just need to clean them with water from time to time.

@@SDWheel Man, Again thank you. I went to harbor freight and picked up a nice cutting wheel for 25$ and was able to trim up some steel and rubber myself, Got 35 12.5's on the truck and they have plenty of room to lower the torsion keys back down to stock for a unreal ride. You guys are legends

I have a 2018 1500. I was told that I wouldn't be able to have 33x12.5 - 44 offsets 20x12 with a 3.5 lift with just a nocal trim. That there would be alot of other major trimming or a higher lift would be needed. Your KZbin shows otherwise. Did you have to do any other trimming?

That should do it. Base on our past customer builds, 49% did metal trimming with Norcal (104 trucks), and 31% only had to do plastic trims. (66 trucks), others reported rubbing.

You may be able to get them back in there, but its definitely easier to leave them off.

Very informative. After going with a wheel set with negative offset a 2.5 level wasn't quite enough. This will do it.

Maybe a stupid question, is it possible with a 3.5" suspension lift to fit 35"s if the wheels are 10-11 " wide with a maximum of -25 offset? 2016 silverado

Hi Blake, with just a 3.5" lift, you will have to do some major trimming to clear an aggressive 10" wide rim and 35" tires. Please send us an email at [e-mail] to help you with your wheel fitment.

There is no alignment done for the front tires, just did some NorCal modification at the back of the front fenders to clear the tires.

With your leveling kit, you would likely have to do plastic trimming with possible minor trimming to clear a 20x10 and 33" tires.

What kind of sawzall are you using here in the video and what saw blade? I have a dremel, but this pinch weld area looks stout. I could pick up a corded knockoff at harbor freight...I already have makita power tools though so I'm kind of tempted to get a quality cordless.

A 12" wide wheel is quite an aggressive setup which require at at least a level kit and the modification stated on the video.

Just got a 3.5” suspension lift and I have the same size tires and mine still rub, I’m debating on doing this but something about cutting into my new z71 just seems wrong. I could do it, been working with metal for 7 years. I’m just curious as to what else I could do. Spacers are not an option so I guess ima hafta to this.

You may have to do some plastic to metal trimming to clear and avoid rubbing, especially with an aggressive wheel like 12" wide.

If you plan on flexing the suspension, you would just trim to suit the travel. This truck was only being street driven, so there was no need to trim more if it was not needed. Thank you!

Hi! This truck comes with 12" wide and 33" tires. You should be able to clear by doing a Norcal modification just like this 2018 Silverado.

It will fit but some trimming on those plastic fenders will be needed to avoid any rubbing on the wall of those fenders. @@willdamian1066 Sorry about the delay. For production efficiency we send all tires at 35psi simply because we ship around 100-150 sets a day. Hopefully our customers can judge what they want their tires to be when the shipment arrives.

Generally, the cutting you make to the plastic or metal would start at the front valance. Some vehicles, depending on style of the wheel well and how large you are going with wheels and tires would require metal trimming on the back side of the fender. So with 14" wide wheels, you will likely have to cut some metals to clear this very aggresisve setup.

Factory wheels are 9” wide? These are 12” wides with a 33” tire so all these different dimensions change with different rim sizes and offsets.

Different tires are different. I have a 3” AKM and rub with my 35x12.5 KO2’s. Different tires have different total measurements due to tread design and depth.
