All 6 of the guides are excellent. Not sure why this isn’t off the carts with likes. Maybe shortcuts aren’t mainstream yet. I’ve gone back to these guides over and over again as I learn shortcuts. Each time I understand more of what you are saying. These guides have helped SO much!!!!!! Thank you. Without the guides, learning shortcuts would have been way more painful.

Using the Shortcuts app to close all open windows tabs in Safari (for my grandmother)? Hello. Really a GREAT video. Well done ! Professionaly, and thank you for sharing! Could this "Shortcuts app" for Ios help my senior mother to be able to Close all the open Safari tabs on her Ipad Pro in one go? How to do that please? I would like it to become an icon in her dock to "close all safari tabs now".... I would have to instruct another friend from a distance how to do this as I do not have the Ipad here and she lives far away from my reach at the moment.

Just what was needed. I understand how important SC could be, it’s just the all tutorials I’ve seen up to now are too complex. A great start, thank you. One tiny point: I’d have preferred you to create a SC that might actually be useful. It would be more of an incentive to stick with the series. I really appreciated asides you made along the way, eg share sheets - always wondered how you got an app in there!

I’d love to see a thorough tutorial on Automation. I’m also looking forward to the scripting piece. I’m trying to create a shortcut to launch Google Maps and navigate to the home address of a contact via a Siri command. It’s working except when the contact has more than one address, at which point it passes all addresses to Google Maps and that search fails.
@tech_craft5 жыл бұрын
One option I've used for this is to drop a Choose from List action in between getting the contact addresses and passing them to Maps. This allows you to choose the right address before switching to Google Maps. You can even check the number of addresses first with a mix of Count/If actions and only show the list selector if needed.
@andrewmasp4 жыл бұрын
This may not be what you want but you can ask Siri to navigate to let's say John via google maps. As long as the address is in your address book, just say "Navigate to John's house via Google Maps"

Hello - can you make a video on how to create a shortcut to shut off the iPhone or using a voice command to instruct Siri to shut off the iPhone? IF it is possible to have the shortcut or the voice command to reboot the iPhone would be even better because people with arthritis like myself have very difficult time to reboot the phone every few days in order to clear out the memory cache. Thank you very much in advance.
@tech_craft3 жыл бұрын
I don’t think there’s support in shortcuts for controlling the power of the device. However, you can restart your device using Settings and also using AssistiveTouch. Not quite as nice but might be better than the awkward button hold: www.groovypost.com/howto/turn-off-restart-iphone-x-iphone-11/

Another amazing video! I have been trying to be able to accomplish something similar to the Evernote webclipper but using Apple notes. I cant seem to get anything to work. I wasn’t sure if there was a way to get url, then convert it to reader view and then save into apple notes? I would like to use Apple notes as my second brain. Thanks again as always!!
@tech_craft5 жыл бұрын
This is absolutely possible. I put together a rough prototype here: www.icloud.com/shortcuts/61a49f0e439e431a8f6884d16b7df2ef You’ll need to allow untrusted shortcuts to be able to install this. That’s in the Settings app > Shortcuts > Allow Untrusted Shortcuts. I put a screenshot here for ease: imgur.com/gallery/bam5xnw Hope this helps!
@shannoncampbell5 жыл бұрын
@@tech_craft That is almost exactly what i built but didn’t. Use the share sheet which was a great idea. This is the part i am probably asking too much of apple notes, is there a way to pull the images as well. Like how Evernote or Bear does it?

hey man... i have a question about the ipad pro.. how much space does the ipad OS take? also what would you say is the total size of all the apps you are using ? i ask this question so i know which storage option to choose if i ever end up buying one..
@tech_craft5 жыл бұрын
Settings reports that the OS on my iPad is using 6GB. The OS also uses some space for temp files, that’s reclaimable, but you do want to leave some space for it. My temp file set is currently around 50GB. My app data is currently around 200GB including all the photos and stuff I have on my iPad. As a general thought on this, I’d say anything less than 256GB is something you’ll regret.
