I could see this being amazing for laptop gaming. The big problem I have with laptops is the ergonomics. You gotta look down at a small screen, and often end up hunched over or squinting trying to see it. This solves that completely. Plug it in anywhere and you got a comfortable PC gaming setup.

Been using these for about a month now. I wanted this to lay down completely and game. Its an okay solution. The edges are blurry, and maybe it is technically oled, idk, but the contrast isnt anything special, with the blacks looking like any other non oled display. But it works i guess. Maybe I'll return and try to setup a wall mounted monitor for a similar effect.

Hey I'm interested in trying an AR glasses. How many virtual monitors can the RayNeo display for productivity use? And is it necessary to get a Beam (or equivalent) to make the virtual screen stay in place? Why can't AR glasses make the virtual screen stay in place without additional hardware?

I am nearsighted, meaning that I see up-close things clearly without prescription lenses. If the projection doo-dads in a pair of XR glasses (or VR headsets for that matter) are right next to my eyeballs, why can't I focus on the image unaided? Shouldn't I be able to ... I don't know ... twist a knob or something? And no, I will not look that up for myself on the internet.

I'm not sure about these XR glasses, but for VR headsets, they use lenses which actually have a fixed focal point. So even though the lenses are really close to your eyes, it's like looking at something that is 1-2 meters away.

How are you supposed to get a picture from devices that don’t support video out over usb c? Like stuff that only has a “hdmi hole”. Also how much does using the glasses affect the steam deck oled’s battery life compared to using the built in display if at all?

I'm getting 4-6 hours on steam deck OLED playing Metaphor Refantazio according to the decks' internal tracker. I think it may be exaggerated, but I think I'm getting better battery since I'm not powering the decks normal big screen.

so you can set the display to be stationary but only on the demo app? you can't do that for the steamdeck for example and the display would wobble with your head? if that is the case it's kind of bad... you have a feature, but you can't use it at all... but more importantly this wobbly display would be bad imo. i haven't tried any of those, but i feel like i would get dizzy by the wobbly display, then i would get used to not moving my head, and this would lead to neck pains if i use it for more than half an hour.

It seems like the biggest hurdle XR glasses face right now is the inability to keep the virtual screen's position locked relative to your environment. At the very least that's the main thing keeping me from trying them. Some early VR games lock the pause menu in the center of your field of view and that always gives me headaches and motion sickness in a hurry.

I hope you're able to keep these for this glowing review. They're still pretty POS. Edges are blurry and I can't see the entire screen at the same time. When they increase the FOV, it might be worth it. For the time being, I'll stick with my Quest 3.

Ive been on the fence about xr glasses... for one SINGLE reason... i wear glasses and dont want to commit to a pair of these thingers and then have them be uncomfortable to wear over my glasses.. or maybe the included inserts will suck / not be comfortable / not work great... Reality is: All these glasses are the EXACT SAME. They all use the same 1080p oled screen. They all use the same optic stack solution. They all use the same USBC display port connection. They all have the same amoumt of sensors (none, except for accelerometer). The companies have made different "Portable Android TV" dongles that you can carry around to connect these too. But I would avoid ALL of those. Just connect your phone or steam deck - THATS where these glasses shine. So Just buy any of these "video glasses" that is the cheapest. Rokid Max can be had for around 200 in offers for example. Thats a good deal. Or go for the looks. Or try 2-3 of them and go for the fit on your face. Its really a pretty big "scam" with these glasses. XReal has multiple of these glasses. But in terms of tech thats inside - all models are exactly the same. They just hike the prices up and up. Even though Xreal Pro or Xreal 2 - they all still have the same 1080p oled scrren, no SOC on board, no sensors and still the same optic stack. So be aware of that.

I just got these for Xmas. Very disappointed…when trying to play any content from Disney+ or Prime video, it says it detected an HDCP issue and cannot play. This was the only reason I wanted these glasses and now they are useless to me. Anybody know way to fix this?

I think every season Gooner should buy these, to think after all this time 'Edge Clarity' could simply be bought with money and come in the form of glasses. If you too have been affected by a lack of Edge Clarity please like this comment so we can reach out to our remaining battle brothers! I've also used these with the RG Cube and an interesting thing happens with the 1:1 screen output. While you can choose to output 16:9 with the cube using desktop mode, 4:3 games look great on the 1:1 output to the glasses (if you keep it that way) because the screen doesn't expand to the edges, so you don't get that screen blurriness near the edges of the glasses using the RGCube playing SNES for example.

Hey, Dweeb (or anyone else with reliable info), I have I weird question. 😅 I have a unique use case, I clean an office building, and I have a pair of original nreal (before the switch to xreal, I'm og. 😉) glasses. I use them to (no lie 😁) watch anime while I'm working. I need to be able to see well, still, though. So I just ripped the sunglass lenses right off and have only the prisms left. It actually works great. So, my weird question, does it look like you can remove - through whatever non total destructive method possible - the sunglasses? I'm looking to upgrade, and these look pretty nice. Thanks for any help. 👍😁
