I would call the manufacture company about the screw for your weed trimmer. I bought shelving from Costco and their was bracket missing. I talked to supervisor and they wanted me to box it up and bring it back. I thought I am not boxing it up that is going to be a pain in the ass. So I found the manufacturer phone number on the box and told them want missing parts that was missing. They FedEx the missing parts to me with no cost.

Just a suggestion - when trimming go right to left or counter clockwise. The reason is you are not throwing the cuttings into the path in front of your trimmer. By going to the left the cuttings are thrown behind the trimmer.

Bought one of these last year. Out of the box I loved it. Went out front to try it out around the front yard and landscape stones trimming as you did with the trimmer oriented to the side and it lasted less than 15 minutes when the line just shot out all at once and wouldnt load again. I had to return it. I had 0.95 line as it called for. Maybe I just got a bad unit or an already returned unit but idk.I wish it would have worked.

I know more now and lawn needs some treatment and if you have hot summers with too many days with no rain you'll have to water the lawn a little also. I greatly appreciate your video my friend and even though it was a year ago I'm seeing it for the first time so I wanted to say something. A year ago I bought one of these line IQ models and out of the box I loved it. When I went out front to trim around the yard it lasted about 10 minutes. The line just shot out one hole then it wouldn't load or advance no way shape or form. We called ego and were informed we needed to buy a new head and send it to them and they would repair it. Ha Ha This was a half hour after purchase. Perhaps I got a bad model or as you say new technology. Anyway we ended up returning it to lowes and I bought the bump head version and it works fine for now. I would like to purchase another line IQ model in maybe a year to see if they're better. Thanks for sharing with us.

Great video! Question: can you tell a difference in power between the different trimmers? I used a 1500 recently and was unimpressed with the power, especially when edging with it. I was considering purchasing the new model 1623, but I am concerned because it has less speed (max of 5500 vs 5800 in the old unit). Are there some other factors that somehow make the 1623 more powerful even though it has lower RPM?

Love your videos. Been on the fence to get battery powered lawn equipment. I hate gas weed eaters because I never can mix the gas right for some reason. So it never runs right amd trying to start 2 strokes are a pain. The two power settings is a nice feature for reg grass and if you need to clear field grass which it taller and thicker. The telescopic shaft will be a big plus as I’m a tall guy and hard to feel comfortable with a weed-eater. So I guess I’ll get the ego mower, weed-eater and the leaf blower. Worst is I don’t like it and take it back. But I feel I will like it and won’t have to drive out and fill gas cans. What comes down to is longevity of the battery and equipment. Btw love Brooklyn such a relaxed dog.

No the Line IQ has the motor in the head. The Multi tool has the motor back by the battery and it’s connected and driven by a gear to the head otherwise you couldn’t change the different attachments. Don’t think it will ever be possible for them to make a Line IQ head that’s shaft driven as I think the motor in the head is what feeds out the line as it gets shorter.

My only problem with Ego line trimmers is the head turns clock wise.The head should turn counter clock wise-it’s safer,you don’t end up with stones shooting towards your face or grass all over your pants and foot wear.I would also recommend anyone thinking of purchasing one to pay the extra money and get the version that is attachment capable.If you have high bushes,you can buy the hedge trimmer attachment and take care of those hard to reach areas.

Your video is sponsored eh? Well, the IQ automatic line feed really doesn't work very well. It waits until only 3 - 3.5 inches of line remains sticking out of each side, and then feeds out too much line which results in several 2" chunks of line in the yard. I don't mind the chunks of line, but trimming with only 3.5 inches of line is annoying, and it wastes quite a lot of line when it eventually feeds. I called their customer support (India I believe) and was told I cannot replace the IQ head with a regular bump feed head, which is most likely BS. There is no email address for EGO, so I guess I'll go back to the dealer and bother them. I found another video where a guy did indeed replace the IQ head with a bump feed head, but he doesn't mention the replacement head and has comments turned off.

Don't get hung up on voltage. It means little to nothing in terms of power. Higher voltage just means it uses less amps. They all us similar watts.
@JimzAuto Жыл бұрын
@@Cannibal440 you are WRONG. Higher current requires larger wiring. Heat loss is proportional to current flow. A/C and DC power are transmitted at high-voltage in order to minimize power loss and reduce transmission wire-size requirements. The only significant downside to higher voltage is possible danger to anyone coming into contact with the voltage.
