Knee Strike is a basic technique that can be very effective for self defense. Practice moving into your target and really driving your knee. This means using your hips!

When you knee the groin--does it matter how the attacker is standing? Or would you always just knee him in the front so to speak?

Hi Alexis! Your opponent's stance will matter to where, if they are standing straight on, that knee strike will land on the groin, but if they are turned to the side, it will land on a different target.

@@beyondsportsutah Thank you. Part of what I meant was if he was standing with legs together or legs apart but I would think if someone is attacking that their legs won't be together or they will be off balance.

@@billsfan3273 nope, its kinda random, i got nut shot time after time during sparring, some times i just brush it off like nothing happened, some times it hurts, its not a reliable technique, just train for real and any strike you land anywhere on your opponent would at least cause damage.

Kinda weird it’s confusing, everyone says Tkd doesn’t use knees or elbows. But there’s proof they do haven’t took Tkd since I was a teen I didn’t learn any knees or elbows there just kicks punches.

I felt relieved tkd allowed knees, i used to train both MT n TKD, now that theres no MT gym near my place, the nearest is kinda 10km away and the trainer is a gay guy that pinch everyones butt, cant wait to play around with knees in my colleges TKD club.
