Okay for those who are having issue with code not showing up, I just solved it. Try logging back onto the account on your OLD phone, then click transfer chat before you re download on your NEW phone. Leave OLD phone on ‘transfer chat to iphone’, and sign-in on NEW phone, it will show to transfer from old phone after you verify your number. Hope this helps. I was stuck for couple of hours. 😢

Do One thing that, don't remove sim from old phone. Try to register new phone but use verification code from old phone. When WhatsApp data transfer done then transfer SIM card.

Open Transfer chats to iphone before registering the number on the new phone, make sure you’re at the part where your camera opens ready to scan the QR code. Then register the number on the new phone, you should be able to continue from here.

Hey guys , if you're using eSim you have to first transfer the eSim to your new iphone and switch off the line. Then just follow the step above till the part where you have to swap the sim , just turn the line back on and it should be transferring.

I tried to do this ( transfer chat from old phone to my new phone “ which was already full) so my new phone memory was full !!! So i ended up creating new whatsapp on new phone w/out back up ,, it backed up whatever was there from icloud but not uptodate … the old phone showed me as if i lost all my chat history logged me out once i logged whatsapp from my new phone !! I had another simcard, i put it in the old phone, entered simcard through whatsapp ( old phone) and i retrieved all the msgs !!! You should have deleted the unwanted media in your old phone WhatsApp before the initial transfer so that your new phone memory wont be full. This is what i did and succeeded.

The prerequisite is both new and old phone must be connected to the same wifi network, and wifi enabled in the old phone.
