I know I should throw them away but two of my orchids catched crown rot. It only takes 2-3 years till they recover. But I have NO patience at all. I just get really sad when I see them suffer, know people throw them away in this condition and I got skills. And am not smart.

@@MrEiht i have an Aloe Vera that for the longest time I couldn’t figure out what it needed. I kept burning the leaves from sunlight or leaving it in too dark of places. I finally found the perfect spot but in the mean time, I bought another one that looks way better, so I at least have one beautiful one and one that’s recovering.

I have done this. My mother in law had 3 large monsteras, she had them for 35 years. But they got thrown outside and forgotten for a decade. No water and not a lot of sun. I found them and they looked like yours but I brought them all back to life and they're huge! I took node cuttings from all 3 and made a bunch more propagations from those. I just barely covered mine with potting soil and they rooted.

Found a broken off branch of monstera on the ground some almost 3 months ago. There were about 7 leaves and most of them were in bad shape, so i took them off and buried the branch in dirt. This video finally brought me the courage to dig it up and cut it up to propagate. Apparently every single node has rooted very nicely! Now i have 5 chonks to share :) hopefully i don't have to wait too long for them to shoot up leaves now that there are alr plenty of roots. Thanks Techplant

First plant youtuber that’s actually explained what nodes are so I know what to look out for. My monstera a a cutting from a plant at work that’s old enough to flower/fruit. Someone made the cutting and then quit and it was going to be thrown away so I asked if I could have it. Couldn’t bare to see it get thrown out. No idea what I’m doing with it though and having to learn fast 😅

Great and inspiring video! Abundant in much needed info. In fact, I am currently on day 7, reviving an adansonii, in similar condition. I got encouraged from your "Does node size matter..." vid. I followed every tip, specially about the blade, and they are doing fantastic so far. Only different with mine is that I used paper towels for the really tiny one node, and pumice for those with internodes to spare. Also am situated in the Philippines, so I guess the natural high humidity helped a lot. Another thing may I add, I noticed that near each node (even the nearest to the roots), a small baby plant(triaglular-shaped bump) is present. I made sure that that area is facing upward and not facing down buried in pumice. Thank's again and good luck to your future experiments.

I have a very sad but formerly very LARGE Monstera with only one mostly green leaf that I repotted, but it has just been wilting. I am so emotionally attached to this plant and you gave me hope and proof that it can be saved, so thank you 😭 I’m sad it basically has to start over when this thing, when I got it, was 4 feet tall with leaves with double fenestrations, and it’s gonna be years until it can get back to that point, but I hope I can maintain care of it for that long because it will be so rewarding to see it grow 🥹 I have severe ADHD and depression which led to neglect, but the plant never gave up on me, so I’m not giving up on it. It was attempting to put out new leaves the whole year that I’ve had it (and mistreated it) and I’m just so happy it gets another chance.

Had a dying monstera deliciosa. Tossed it inside one of my mini ponds and it's rooting like crazy. Started with 2 plants cramed into a pot and separated them, had a piece dying off from the bigger plant so I cut it off and just shoved it into my mini pond with my tri-colour swordtails, now I have 3 😁, also have a marble queen pothos stem just floating in there finally growing some leaves.

If you don't want to wait to callous fresh cuts but you also struggle with mold and rot, get yourself some horticultural dusting sulfur. It's sold as antifungal plant product. :) Immediately brush the fresh cuts with the powder so it's evenly covered or dip the ends into a pile of powder. Let it dry for a few seconds and then brush or tap off the excess. Voila. The cut is sealed with a substance that won't harm the plant at all and will kill any mold trying to grow into the cutting from the ends. :) I always dust my cacti cut wounds with sulfur. Always.
