So happy I live in Scotland we do not have rod licence here, also, the river I fish (Devon) is only 17 pounds a whole season with a 4 fish a day catch limit. Great video by the way.

my best brown trout from the river usk was 4 1/2 pounder , my best from the river taff was 6 pound ! i would actually rate the usk a better river though , and by the way , i ve had 3 dace over 2 pound , from the usk !!

No, it is banned. There is a bylaw that prohibits spinning for trout anywhere on the Usk.

@@enfantterriblefishing7483 you won't find many. The no spinning rules are in place to protect trout and salmon stocks on most game fishing rivers in England & Wales. It might be worth you trying fly fishing?

Fishing in the UK is strange. Here in Victoria, Australia we only require a fishing licence and with this we can fish basically any body of water that we want.

It's always enjoyable watching people catch fish, but unfortunately that's all this video is, really. There was nothing on the type of of tackle to use, the choice of fly, whether to fish upstream or downstream etc, so the title is actually quite misleading.

Wait till you try Austria! EUR70 per day if you don't have the fishing exam. The exam costs EUR300 and is 2hrs course every week for 10weeks!!! And then it's all in German. You can then buy a year card for specific areas for about EUR900-2000.00 or stick to slightly discounted day cards 😭

I fish for trout with another technique, witouth barb, witouth messing up the river bottom because i don't wade. Also i handle the catch and release principle. Another surplus is that juvenile fishes don't usually take my bait because they simply aren't big enough to take it. Still i'm forbidden to fish on the alot of trout rivers because i'm not fly fishing... This is just nonsense. Because of this flyfishing-snob-mentality i'll always laugh my ass off the moments the big trout come chaising my bate by 2 or 3 at a time, while the all-snobby-flyfishermen round me catch nothing or just the juvenile troutThe ones you should actually leave at rest. I'd actually be interested to learn to fly fish and i had some curious tries in the past allready. The snobbery allways withheld me... Did you really think you fly-snobs are the only ones who respect or understand the fish and enviroment around us?
