Purchased the 43-inch model (43UM7300PUA) for $299 at Best Buy to use as a computer monitor. What an unbelievable deal! 4K 60Hz IPS panel supporting chroma 4:4:4! I simply had to scale text to 150% in Windows 10 (under Display properties). Honestly the text is so crisp it rivals my MacBook Pro. Now that’s saying something! I sit ~2 to 2.5 FT away and observe no pixelization and no cross-hatching / sub-pixel dithering!!! Truly a Retina display from my perspective. This is the best $299 that I’ve spent in ages! Thank you LG!

Our very loyal 55" LG from 2005-2006 just gave up the ghost day before yesterday...may it rest in peace. That just solidified our choice to continue to LG legacy & choose another one to replace our beloved deceased one. However, it goes without saying that times & technology have massively changed since mid 2000's. I've literally been nonstop shopping online during the coronavirus pandemic for the past 8.5 hours! @@TechSteve On official LG website compare 43" with 50" of same model and check Picture (panel) field. It's not IPS, regardless please comment on your daily viewing of the tv by side angles. I might go with 50" VA panel as 49" IPS still has RGBW pixel structure.

I'm still torn. IPS vs VA panel. This IPS has better viewing angles... but VA better blacks and contrast especially in dark rooms. I'm looking for something at 50 inches for a bedroom. This size limits features. 55 and up seems to have more bells and whistles. I like LGs platform and OS definitely... but then there's Vizio's M Series at 50 inches that's a VA panel... with local dimming. Hard to choose.

Didn't tell anyone about the down sides of smart TVs > ie getting hacked and listening to every word you say then shared with hundreds of third party money makers and advertising these thing's are doing along with p*ssing you of with advertisements about the holidays you had been talking about or the make and model of car you was talking about these thing's TVs are smarter than you think but they won't tell you about it a little like RUKU devices and Alexa "on Alexa go to the menu and listen to all your private conversions you had and the sound of you having fun with the wife and everything else you've been saying (unwittingly) not knowing everything you've said is being recorded and KEY words like ALEXA amongst many many others activate these devices to record everything so they can bombard you with crap the same with GOOGLE who store you're activities,location "everything" you say for 13months from the date you stop using your phone because you bought a beautiful new one, WHY do they need to store everyone's data even though that device is no longer in use? We have no privacy in this world not even behind our own four Wall's of our home's and it's no wander everyone has the feeling their been watched everywhere they go because in reality they are. So before you decide to dive in bed with the wife unplug that new TV and turn off your mobile phone "even better " > do without them and reside in a cave. I got this one from costco @ 300$ a few days back. The picture quality is great. I am however seeing some dirty screen effect - vertical banding in some scenes where the color is uniform. Ran some gray scale test and it’s clearly visible in them. The vertical bands are not too dark but my eyes keep catching them. Should I replace my tv or is this normal ?

One question how is the uniformity of the tv panel? I've had to return my Samsung tv because whenever a panning shot was happening for example watching a football game whenever the camera pans i noticed dark patches on the screen this issue is known as the dirty screen effect.

I was looking at a Vizio M-Series but then I stumbled on this one. Which one would you suggest as far as picture quality?

Hey Steve, Thanks for the awesome video. I have a question I do have google home mini can we control this tv using google home mini (commands like turn off, turn on, play so and so on so and so) . I have connected it to the google home account as you described and it works with remote google assistance as you described, but am unable to give commands through google home mini. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again.

My daughter doesn’t have cable in her room can you use a DVD player without it because I can not find out how to play a dvd in her room

Yes and if you have WiFi there’s free LG Tv with over 100 streaming channels. The DVD won’t have the best resolution but it will upscale the signal.

Your video is excellent. I have to go back all the time because you go through the stuff so quickly. I can't figure out how to log into Google. The Google Assistant does do anything because it asks me to say something which I do but nothing really happens. I will figure this out eventually I hope.

I just came back from electronic store and comparing between LG UJ450T 43 inch vs LG UM7300 43 50 and 55 inch. At the end i confused. for detail and sharp picture i like UJ450T but the UM7300 50 inch is also attractive since the price not much different. Any suggestion?

A couple questions for you. Have you uploaded the PS4 set up video with this TV yet? I can't find it. Even in "Game Mode" it feels like I'm getting a bit of input lag on some games like rocket league, so I'm interested to see your set up. Also, what's your preferred method of casting? The only casting I have found on this TV is screen cast that just displays your phone screen. Kind of a bummer that it doesn't have chrome cast built-in given that it's Google.
