Purchased this for my wife, based partially on this review, to replace her crappy 2x1080p setup. It's a good monitor. I've had VA panels before and was expecting crapola smearing but in my 3-4 hours of testing didn't notice any serious issues as long as overdrive was set to medium. Not as fast as an IPS monitor but not awful. Uniformity to the naked eye was good on our panel too.

@@robbylebotha The format itself is fine, her specific monitors that were some 10 years old with barely functioning backlights were not.

Yea the latest generation of VA screens are much better as the motion blur is pretty much gone. VA is actually quicker than IPS as response times go, blacks are much better too which is great for gaming. IPS is good for production work where you need accurate colours, but it's kind of becoming obsolete now with VA becoming a lot better (and is cheaper to produce) and OLED for the top end.

dell is significantly brighter and more vibrant. looking at both but I cant purchase this one in the US besides importing it at ridiculous prices

I was in the same dilemma but I've gone for the AOC as it's currently £250 whereas the Dell is £400 I can't see it being £150 better tbh and the colour can be tweaked slightly to improve the vibrancy on the AOC👌🏼

How does it compare to the CU34G2X (especially with this older model now being around €30-40 euros cheaper) and is it worth spending that little extra? Also how does it compare to it’s “little” brother the CU34G2XE?

I got this XP model from China. AOC claims it's using the latest HVA panel and the black smearing issue is significantly lesser than the older X model. That's the only biggest difference I can tell between the two

@@_Nexus_8 Yes I'm able to set it to 10 bit in my amd driver, but I couldn't see any color difference between both

Question here....so I have the AOC CU34G2X 34" curved monitor....it appears the only difference with the CU34G2XP is that it's 180hz vs the 144hz correct? Would the outside dimensions like height, width etc still be the same for the CU34G2X and the CU34G2XP? or is there slight variations to the dimensions?

hello ! great video ! Do you know if this screen is an 8 or 10 bit screen ? because I do design and it's an important factor. And also, is the supply power intern or extern ? I don't know why some manufacturers put the power supply inside the screen ... It reduce the life of the monitor (probably because of heat and electromagnetic charge) by damaging in the long term the other components. (why nobody ever speak about that ? It's an important factor no ?) what do you guys think ?

I can answer the question now that I bought it. If you put your screen to 180 hz it's 8 bit. If you put it in 144 hz you can put it in 10 bit in your nvidia driver pannel. hope it helps. For now, I'm pleased with it

@@alexedelmann1090 yes I do. The only downside is that the power supply is in the screen itself, I prefer when it is on the ground. Don't forget to tune your nvidia settings to make the screen run at 144hz (only) if you want to activate 10 bit, instead of 8 bit. The price of the monitor is a real +. because the screen has aa lot of technologies that are not seen in this price point.

@@pixelion8 That are good news! I have made the attempt to buy one too and currently it‘s still unboxed waiting for me in my bed room until I have built my new pc and gaming room. I was afraid to buy it since there are basically no reviews but am excited to try it out when I have all built up.

I just bought it and returned it after 1h. I have no idea why, I could not calibrate it to look good. If it looked (just) decent in gaming, it looked horrible in windows, with a Permanente white haze from shadow enhancement in the menu, washed colours, very poor contrast. If I lower shadow enhancement the dark areas in games are pure black. Very disappointed, can`t really recommend it. I work and game on the PC, so I need to have good visuals in both settings. Horrible experience for me. Your desktop looks nice though, I wonder how did you configure it.
