Looks like they are fleecing the toursits given the current financial situation. I visited Turkey in 2019 end visited some of the famous restaurants(going by the recommendations of Mark Weins). And remember it was much cheaper. Meal for two costed maximum 200 liras(In Zübeyir Ocakbaşı etc., Lira was much stronger then 1 Lira = 13 rupees). The inflation in Lira currency is insane.

Hi sujith, the donut thing you see saw there is actually called "simit". Takabilirsin means "You can take it 😄". Some simit carts have the message "Askıda simit takabilirsin" - This means that if you wish, you can actually pay money for simit(s) which the simit vendor will then reserve those simit that you payed to donate it to poor people. So basically, you can buy simit for yourself, or, if you want to help poor people, you can also pay for some simit which will later be given to the poor.

16:58 they are grilled chesnuts. You can get turkish tea/ coffee for as cheap as 5 lira but because you chose to sit down in a restaurant the price will double/ triple. The price of everything has definitely gone up. The price of that grilled corn was 15 lira last year. I think for next food tour better do with shwetha.

Veg options are limited but available. You get rice most of the places and naan bread kind of stuff. There is Turkish pizza, pide , which is good. Breakfast should be okay if you like continental , bread/simit/olives/cheese etc.
