Tonight I clicked on this video. I first learned about Ross several months ago through Sarah's videos. The world is full of good, honest, decent people with good intentions and real life stories. How can anyone not like and admire this man and his message? I am now a subscriber. Thank you so much for the empathetic awakening.

"Click, click, click. Where did that sound come from, who is making that sound in court". Ross you had me in hysterics right there, so funny. You're more than a friend, to your true friends, robust, and sound. You've had my respect from day one, that was the Wonderhussy collaboration video. And from there it has grown and grown. You're an inspiration. Hoping that the incoming storm gives you a wide berth because you are truly a force to be reckoned with. Much love and thoughts from the UK.

Hey Ross. I have been a paraplegic for 41 years, having got my back broke in a roof fall in a coal mine. I have been active over the years, working on cars, making furniture, doing electronics work and rolling many, many miles for exercise, so I have gone through several wheelchairs. In some ways your accident put you in the mines, and my accident took me out of the mines. I greatly admire you working down in the Mine and climbing those ladders. Be safe and keep up the good work. Charlie.

HI Ross, I'm a retired cop too. 25 years with a northern California Sheriff's Office. I've had my share of on-the-job injuries, but nothing compared to what you sustained. I looked up Thurman Morrison. What a piece of work. It's very interesting what a penchant he had for sexual predator cases. He was very lenient in sentencing, if he even provided a sentence at all. It upset me just reading about some of his cases. Makes a person wonder what kind of a deviant he may have been. Thanks, for your service and MAY GOD SPEED. PS. I'd really like to come and visit you and your mine. I now live in Bakersfield, Ca. About a 4-hour dr. I'm 78 and still pretty active.

You were a cop?!? That's nice to know! Thanks for your bravery and service! I'm born n raised in a law enforcement (civil and military) family🤘🏼. Your story got me thinking. Way back in 1986, a Sacramento County Deputy Sheriff was fighting w a dude, after breaking up the fight between that dude and another guy. The fight spilled out into the road and it was that time of year when the yule fog is super thick. A car came by striking the deputy and severed his leg and part of his hip. He actually survived that. I remember years later as well, the tv news interviewing him about his story and his post-injury struggles and ptsd. And he was actually on a pysche medication I had been on that causes dry mouth. Well I looked his story up(thnx google) and he passed on from related causes, from having his limb torn off, 22 years later. Terribly sad R I P Sac'to County Deputy Sheriff Paul W. DeRouen All the best, stay safe, be well n healthy🤘🏼

Your an awesome man Ross. That's a difficult story to tell to the public. Thank you for sharing. I've done my fare share of off-road on motorcycles. My best friend in my home town of Missouri is a police officer, and I keep telling him to wear his helmet when he rides his Harley off duty. Well, keep riding the tropical storm out at Tecopa Mines. Several inches of rain is no good in the desert.

Ross thank you for sharing. 35 years ago I shattered my ankle and received a internal replacement of 13 screws, 4 plates and 6 inch's of cadaver bone. As i age it has put me in the hospital several times the last time it was suggested that i should look into a prosthetic lower leg such as the ones you use. Keep on being my favorite one-legged miner.

I hope you had fun in Mexico. Glad you're back home making videos. I never asked about the leg because you never told the story before, and I figured it had to be a bad memory. But I was curious, so thanks for telling us. I had imagined all kinds of things, mostly heroic stuff like gunfights and bizarre accidents. (And here endith the lesson.) BTW I love desert storms, and the smell of wet sage and ozone after. It's a heady mix. Too bad Sarah is out of town. I'm pretty sure she'd enjoy it too. I rather envy your living setup, and wonder what it would be like. Thanks for making your videos and sharing so much, and looking forward to "meeting" Leo on your KZbin channel. Hi Ross, I am very fortunate to have both of my legs. In 1981, I was riding my motorcycle and a fellow turned left in front of me. I pretty much hit him head on as he was in his turn. I had a nasty fracture of my left femur, concussion and broken ribs. I was hospitalized for 4 months that year after infection set into the fracture. Anyway, God bless you and keep you safe and healthy.

@@tecopamines I doubt that, but I saw a video a few years back of a guy in the UK that lost his leg in Iraq. He started playing golf and got below scratch and became a golf pro. I have a place in Pahrump with 5 acres and hit balls out into the desert, my own private driving range, and walk out with a shag bag to pick up the balls when I have hit them all. The Ravens are the ones that are the biggest threat to the balls, they pick them up and drop them farther out in the desert. You could hit balls out at your place if you get bored, the morning or evening when the sun is not blazing is the best time. I could help you with your swing thru video anytime (no charge of course) if you wanted. I Love your passion and I love your animals.

Thank you for your service Ross, and I mean that! Police these days get very little respect. Even back in the 70's I saw it first hand, but nowhere near today's woke, get rid of the police rant. Luckily, for me, I learned respect at the young age of 13! We were partying down a dark deserted street near my best friends farm with adults, and other youngsters like myself. The Police show up, and a few of the adults were giving them a hard time. Even at that young age, I didn't get it, why are you arguing with the police when there's no reason? Two of them were arrested, and it taught me to respect authority, not to mention my father was assistant warden at Ventura School, and head of education at Chino Prison before that. I learned from others mistakes, and my father's knowledge. I needed that education because I was always in trouble, curfew, dui, public drunkenness, and at least 10 pullovers for traffic offense some minor, some not. By being cordial, and not causing problems, I was let loose on several tickets that were in the bag, but the officer respected my respect for authority, and let it go. Some people do not like any kind of authority, and they are the bane of an officers existence! Anyway, I'm happy you made a life for yourself outside the penal system, one that's a lot less stressful. Some of your stories as an officer would make for an interesting vlog. Those you gave a break to, those you didn't! 😁😎👍✌🗽

Hey there, been following since WonderHussy brought you to my attention. Still have all my appendages, though not for lack of trying. Raced off road motorcycles for years, but after riding on the street for a few, decided that wasn't for me, kinda like what happened to you. Too many close calls with inatentive nitwits. So there was a guy, and I wish I could remember his name, who was a professional moto hillclimber, like widowmaker stuff. And he was one legged. They would somehow, usually unsuccesfully, strap his prosthetic to the footpeg, and before his run was over the leg would be flailing around and pointing in the wrong direction, nearly kicking himself in the back of the head. It was both horrifying and comical at the same time. Anyway, you're a badass, I'd like to come visit the mine in the near future.
