Still need to be in shape whether or not you are jacked. A lot of people still don't realize the kind of cardiovascular fitness you need to last for even a 10 minute match.

Ted always minimizes Warrior. There have been many muscle heads, not only was Warriors physique was one of the best in wrestling but he had the it factor. The charisma and intensity was there and he connected with the crowd. You don't rival Hogan in popularity in 1989/1990 just by having a great body.

Ted is bitter, as are a lot of wrestlers. They love to say "it's all about putting asses in seats", but then Warrior does just that and it's all "No, not THAT way". These dudes are the biggest marks for themselves. Most of the time when they say they didn't use steroids, they're not lying. There's a ton of PEDs that aren't steroids, and a ton of those guys absolutely used that shit back in the day (and still do).

@@khamla616 Warrior was a D*CK all through his life in wrestling and after that as well, that is why. NO ONE really took it back; THEY did what they were told to do by Vince. In fact, most of them feel the same way as Ted does. Looking around in shoot interviews like this one, no one really says anything GOOD about him. Hell, even his wife was "future endeavored" after it would not make WWE look like assholes for letting her go. Willing to bet, the warrior award will go south soon as well. They will replace it with something else. Give it time.

Ted did not look like he did PEDs but plenty of other guys did to various degrees. Add recreational drugs and booze and it became a death sentence or certain disability. Horowitz for example was all natural and he is alive and well to this day.

Bret Hart confirmed about Warrior getting fired back in 1992 due to getting Steroids from a European drug dealer who got busted. Bret said that Vince told him that he was going to wrestle Warrior in the rumble and put him in the sharpshooter. Bret also said that Vince called him first before he was going to fire Davey Boy Smith as well since Davey was getting steroids from the same dealer that got busted in the UK.

He wasn't because the WWF was a face territory and heels were ever only used as transition champions to get the belt from one face or another. There simply was no real place for Ted as Champion. You don't book Hogan to drop the belt when he is the biggest wrestler in the world, this was followed by the Mega Powers storyline, then came Warrior. It's just how the territory works: Face Champion who fights off heels, it's different from most other territories who had a Heel champ being chased by a face challenger, who usually gets cheated on. Don't know why people don't understand that.
