Pigs do some SERIOUS damage. I had one single domestic pig, and she turned a good sized area in front of the woods into a muddy, swampy pit, by herself. Imagine a whole pack of them. Feral hogs tear up my grandma’s property in southeast central Texas. They dig deep holes all over the place in search for roots, vegetables, bugs/insects/grubs, ground-nesting small animals, etc… they’ll eat a young deer if they can catch one. They even tear through barbed-wire fences to make large gaps that they can get through, which causes cattle and other livestock to escape. During their digging, they’ll destroy literally any plant or small tree in their way. It creates these large areas of broken ground with multiple scattered deep holes all throughout it. Looks like somebody took a jackhammer to large areas. I have no experience with crops, but imagine what they do to large crop fields. They have multiple piglets at a time, and they’re able to breed when they’re I think only 9months old. They can have multiple litters per year. They even eat eachother’s young as competition, or to establish dominance. And they can get BIG. Several hundred-pounds of BIG. It’s open season on them year-round, as far as I’m aware. Certain times of year, the local government will even pay you for each set of cut-off feral hog ears that you can turn in as proof. Kind of like the large swamp-rat hunting bounty in the bayou. I’ve even been charged at by a group of feral hogs that were tearing up the ground amongst the cattle in the cattle pasture. I was probably 80 yards away, and they started charging me as a group as soon as they noticed me. I’m 6’3, 205lbs, and I ran immediately. They’re out for blood. They can be very aggressive, and are seemingly very territorial. I would love to see the number of Texas’ natural predators rise to help take on this problem. We have bobcats, coyotes, and the occasional very rare mountain lion, but almost none travel east of I35. Some people swear by sightings other types of rare cats, also. Especially further south. But even coyotes nowadays are few & far between. Many people shoot them whenever they see them. Bobcats are even fewer, and they’re not big enough to go after feral hogs any bigger than a piglet. Even a pack of coyotes would have a hard time taking out a feral hog. Deer and smaller animals are much easier targets for them.

Growing up in Michigan, getting into archery at a young age through my dad, and his long experience in the outdoors, we always felt the same way... the problem is that over the years... we realized that the sport, lifestyle and industry needs a person like TED, this man, with his platform and reach has brought so many eyes to the issues. and he fights to the death for what he cares about. The anti-hunters, fight ruthlessly for their agenda.. and we need someone that will just say "F it and fight them back".. we have a ton of Nice Guy Articulate, "Poet" hunters that will always fight for our cause.. but nice guys tend to lose..Ted and his manic energy are needed in a lot of ways. it's something that I came to realize after a long time.

My brother and I almost got attacked by a pack of wild boars while waiting for the school bus. (Florida) Luckily the bus soon showed up and scared them away. There’s no way we’d have out ran them. My brother and his friends started hunting boar hogs soon after that. They could rip open the belly of a dog whose instinct is to protect their human. Boars also root up the ground leaving holes for horses and cows to step in and injure their legs.

Libertarians are wacky. You can’t live in massive groups without rule of law. You can’t effectively enforce rule of law in a massive group without government. Yesterday I chose at complete random to listen Ted Nugent's last visit to the JRE. Today he's on again. In the shower two days ago, I was humming, basically in my head, the song Under the Boardwalk. When I pressed shuffle play on Spotify on my way to work an hour later, that was the first song out of 4500 to play. This morning I said I haven't spoken to my uncle in Canada for too long and he called about an hour ago. What the fuck is going on.

Oh stop. If the legislation did not make sense, it would not have been changed. Clearly, it is totally sensible and reasonable. Just any celebrity can't make up laws that will be changed simply because it was a celebrity that wanted it. The best chance of that actually happening is it a Democrat state being run by democrats, with Democrat celebrities. In that case, you're talking about the blind leading the blind, or two better describe it, dumb and dumber. That's when it does not need to be sensible and reasonable. In a state like Texas, it needs to be sensible and reasonable regardless of who presents it. The only way that will change is if the Democrats take charge.

I think the practice needs regular reviews and monitoring. If the practice is effective and the animals are being despatched as clean as possible, than keep the practice going. Public perceptions of hunting is the issue and how the hunting community are viewed. We don't have to justify killing a rat or cockroach because we don't find pleasure in it. But if someone got a little too excited about killing a rat. You'd worry about them.
