I think it was to experience a normal type day/date with Lugh when she knows she can't do that, so she had them play the roles of civilians to make it feel better like they can be a normal couple. She was tricking Lugh so that he didn't get involved with the political situation she is in. (Not really malicious at all)

This episode was great, especially the foreshadowing by the end. I liked how it develops Lugh and Dia’s relationship and Dia’s character in general. Their date was pretty wholesome and I liked how Lugh was kind’ve awkward around Dia because that would be me on a date. Its kind’ve funny that after Lugh tells Dia that her family could be in danger, she asks him to go on a date with her. I’m curious for all the LN readers, is this anime very faithful to its source material or not? I’m just a anime only.

It’s actually pretty faithful. I dose take a lot of the ideas from the light novel that were mentioned in passing and expand on them more which is great.

Haven’t read the novels but my guess is that quote of how the goddess say “as if you can persuade the hero” in the second episode be our protagonist reincarnates into a baby in episode 2. It’s a 50-50 guess but I want to put my money on Dia being the hero.

The anime has made some changes for example those extra scenes with the goddess never happened at least not in currently released lightnovels English version. The adaptation of this better than Spirit Chronicles. My biggest issue that they seem to toning some of the scenes down. This episode is pretty much an anime filler episode because Lugh doesn't go on dates Dia until later in the novels

I just had a thought, wouldn't Dia technically be the strongest mage in Swoigel after her and Lugh got creative early in anime? She already was one of the top 5 before Lugh did anything? Surely with her depth of magic she'd pass her fathers magic quite easily? Anime only here

They know about Dia and about what Lugh feels for her, and they have also made it clear that they don't mind being just his mistresses (and Dia doesn't mind them being his mistresses either), so why would they be angry? This is one of those cases in which the waifus actually get along pretty well with each other. ^^

I really like the girl's reaction to MC attempting to use his op powers to cheat, especially in a most casual situation. That's basically how I feel at this point about the whole OP MC trope in anime that has been trending for quite some years now. It's really boring at one point.

Well its not magic like that. His eyes are surgically made so he can see better (and also if someone has mana). After he tries to use his skills from his past life to win which she is also against (she doesn't know about him not being from her world) to which he would reply "i cant unlearn the skills i have learned". The only reason Lugh is considered to be broken is because he was mindful of what he could choose of his skills. He chose to combine skills rather than choose all the op one's, I mean even the godess comments on his choice of an S rank skill which is hyper recovery which isn't THAT broken, when he could have chosen something else which would be more op than something like that.

Today watching this episode I realized how stupid it is that Zelda and anime etc like this showing of medieval time would have archery games like this this kind of stuff we see at modern times at carnivals etc as people today have low or none archery or other similar dexterity skills. So far the series has been one big yawn fest. It's 99% "romantic" dialog or innuendo with the harem girls and so little actual interesting action. Gee he cut a girls hand off. There was 10 seconds. he pointed a rifle at the lady AND didn't pull the trigger, 10 seconds, he actually killed one person, 10 seconds. Hell the harem had more action fighting the slavers than Lugh had the entire series so far. And that was maybe 3 minutes of fighting. ALL THE REST IS THE GIRLS AND THEIR CRUSH ON LUGH. I guess the interesting anime era is over and it's all slice of life drama bs now EVEN IN ANOTHER WORLD. At this point I am rooting for the hero to crush Lugh, the girls and the goddess and end the whole series.

You do realize he can't make a move until AFTER the hero has defeated the demon lord right? That means he's on standby until age 16 at the very least. Even then, he has been building up his skills and the goddess did say she doesn't mind what he does as long as he eventually does his end of the deal.

I never said anything about hunting the hero currently, but it seems like he wastes so much time over pointless stuff that could end up being meaningless in the long run if he isn't ready once the time comes. Call it whatever you want, I see it as pointless material, especially since the entire selling point of this series is that the MC used to be a professional prior to his current life.

@@matogelvasila99 Establishing the business was necessary to ensure he could keep his alias as Illig Balor - there's no way the Balor Company would betray him considering the commercial success he holds. His cosmetics and alias enables him ease of passage to higher security places, and also enables his information network with Maha at the helm. A considerable amount of money is necessary to purchase the national treasures, as was brought up in this episode, and even as an aristocrat the Balor Company generates more wealth. Man's just not one-track mindedly rushing towards killing the Hero, he still has time and has other goals too.

Aside from his general physical and magical training, he's also continually creating and revising various techniques mostly off-screen until we see him and the girls actually use them in real combat.
