Love this watch. I bought the blue dialed version over the summer after seeing your review and others. One thing I disagree with you on is the bracelet. I actually think it is quite nice--comfortable, looks great and is a perfect match to case, finishing is excellent, and it's got some nice heft to it. Based on your first review, I also tried it with a leather strap; but the part of the case hidden by the bracket is essentially unfinished. It is a very flat sort of bead-blast surface that appears nowhere else on the watch and seems like it is not meant to be exposed. That you could see this unfinished area with the strap bugged me, so sticking with the bracelet pretty much full time.
@frankbick69534 жыл бұрын
@Hxzrry I'm partial to blue, which is why I got the blue (wearing it now). It's a deep blue with a nice, subtle sunburst. Almost looks black in certain lighting situations, so goes with just about anything. Black might be slightly more versatile, but I also have a black faced Hamilton Khaki Field Auto, though the Hammy leans more casual with the leather or NATO straps I wear with it. The Tissot Gentleman with bracelet, IMO, leans more dressy. I tend not to wear the Tissot with jeans, but you could.

@@paulsmithchannel I mean, it’s nothing like my Christopher Ward diver, but if I wake up in the middle of the night, I can read my Tissot Gentleman. Just tiny lume dots for hours, and thin strips in hands, but I can still see it at night. Then again, I don’t have my contacts in then, so have to get just inches away to see anything. I also keep it in glass top case near window, so it gets plenty of sunlight. I do wear this one a lot-#1 or 2 during week. I’m sure if you’re seeing nothing at all on lume that Tissot would work with you.

Hi, I was wondering when you where the watch everyday (this one without the strap but yours with the metal bracelet), does the underneath metal bracelet pins to your wrist skin? Or if it is avoided with a smooth finish by Tissot? My only worry with getting a watch with a bracelet is I have had one that kept pinning on to my wrist underneath and adding one more link would have made the watch to get completely loose. By the time I remove it after the day, I used to have deep stuck cut marks of the underneath metal bracelet. If you could shed some light, much appreciated. Thank you.

I really like this watch, to the point that I'm planning on making the blue dial model my next watch purchase. Two of my grail watches (price point dependant) are the Omega Aqua Terra and Vacheron Constantine Overseas, but spending ages looking for a sub-$1K alternative nothing has come close to the Gentleman Powermatic 80 (Seiko SARB033 came very close, before it was discontinued, but at 38mm it was too small for me; and I'd rather this movement over a 6R15). I know I wanted the Gentleman from the moment I first saw it, but it took me months to decide between the blue or black dial. I was originally pulled towards this black model, because I love a matching date, and my only issue with the dial design is the date position (it sits too far in from the edge; a common 2824 issue on 40+ watches). Then I saw the blue dial in person, and that settled it fairly quickly, white date disk be damned. I love the size (40mm is my minimum becauseof 8in wrists), and I can't bring myself to complain about the bracelet considering its price (although I love to try it with a Milanese bracelet, but they're irritatingly hard to find in 21mm).

I have the blue and the black version - both on the original leather strap with butterfly clasp - I am very happy, because everything on these watches are stunning: accuracy (both +1/+3 sec. per day), the movement, the finishing on dial, hands, hour indices and case. Any recommendation to remove scratches on the bezel? Thanks! :)
@nicholaihel63953 жыл бұрын
Im curious about that too. The shiny bezel can be easly damaged with long term use isn’t it? Only question in my mind, otherwise i’ll pull the triger, get it! :)

Cape Cod Polishing cloths work wonders - only on the polished surfaces however.

Its like a copy of the explorer case, especially that bezel! Just 1mm to too big for case diameter. If it was 38.5 it would be perfect

what i cant understand is the so called downside of 21mm lugwith..IIII think its rediculous to have a omego 42mm with a lugwith of 20mm..when one has a 8 inch wrist it looks like a womens bracelet..love youre channel..regards Rodrigo..the inproovement would be 39mm..
@psychoticbreaks167justletm43 жыл бұрын
Simple... should use 22mm. The odd numbers are a pain because theyre so rare. 20 or 22 is easy. 19 or 21... not so easy.

Come on Tissot... make it 38mm with a NORMAL lug width of 20mm, it's sell like hot cakes.
