Nakul Haridas Well, another reason is that it emphasizes Isis’ domain over magic. According to Kemetic myth, all things, from the grain to the stars, have a nature, and thus, a name that conveys their nature, and Isis is revered as chief patron of magic because she, foremost, understands all of their natures, hence she commands them via names.

All y’all talking about how Egyptian mythology is so wholesome are forgetting the one where Ra literally MASSACRED one third of all humans on Earth because they called him old
@Sybil_Windhill4 жыл бұрын
well... Ra was an older generation (alongside Shu, Tefnut (his children), Geb and Nut (his grandchildren)) than Isis, Osiris and so on, older gods mean they aren't so close to humans as the younger ones, they don't understand humans, so they act like we are ants. It's a bit the same with Greek mythos, Zeus and the lot were very human (but a bit in the mean side of our nature), but Zeus' dad was a titan, something so strange from gods and humans that gods just waged war with them in order for the whole world to exist as we know it.
@kennethhwang34254 жыл бұрын

People forget that mythology is incredibly symbolic. It was evening she would go out, and each scorpion served a role; also they were created with magic so nobody likely noticed they were there. There are also many variations of Egyptian myth. The most historical don't seem to mention their size, and the baby often isn't with her. Horus is being cared for by other gods and human women, etc. She is searching for her husbands body.

Another fun story about Isis. When Set killed Osiris (her husband) he cut him into pieces and scattered him all over the lands of Egypt. Isis found every part and put him together again and he came back to life. Every part except for one, I'll let you figure that out on your own. Good video.
